I liked him best as Budgie rather than that rather lame Buddy Holly wannabe.

Patton killed FNM. They should have ditched him after Angel Dust and got Blunty in.

Indeed, what a blunt.

Don't you think his twin bro Morrison is a bit similar though.

The Bluntster is not merely a rock singer but an uberstar wot transcends all genres, time, space and infinity.. We shall not see his like again.

Well indeed, all of his many and varied side-projects (Peeping Tom, Fantomas, Tomahawk etc) get perhaps as much praise as flak. A lot has been made of Patton's almost-career-suicide move of shifting away from supposed straight-forward rock music into more experimental realms - but there aren't many rock vocalists willing to have a go at as many different things as he has, even if many people tend to dismiss it as a lot of mad comical screeching...

Really liked The Real Thing (especially Epic!) but the following albums all seemed to have very mixed reviews?

Not even James Blunt (oh, no, back to him again).

I dont recall FNM cropping up so here's a less than subtle attempt to shoehorn them into these here boards. Are there any others here appreciative of these West Coast loons? After been given some serious grief by some t*sser at work today, I whacked on Angel Dust on the car stereo at eardrum shattering volume and very cathartic it was too. IMO the best US rock band of the 90s bar none and nary a dodgy track among their 5 albums. Has there been a better rock singer than Mike Patton? Not in my book there hasnt.
