I love your use of the word dumb, Poopsey. It is really all you have to say about atheism isn't it?

Clearly it is not dumb to have an invisible friend, to believe the world was created in six day, talking snakes, magic apples, people coming alive again, virgin births, chariots of fire.... need I go on? No that's not dumb that is the height of sensibleness.

Its not dumb to support an organisation that murdered people for dissent, covered up physical abuse by nuns, paedophile abuse by priests and defies the UN. No of course not.

I wonder which of is really soooo DUMB eh Poopsey.?!

I think this picture is an excellent illustration of why the existence of the Universe is a poor argument for the existence of a personal creator god.

One uses logic and reason the other intellectual and moral dissonance yet you think they are the same.

Good thinking that. Not. You are in the back end of my sentence and not the front end.

We may never know the reality of God but the morals on offer are less than what you should see as ideal.

If that is not important to you then you are not much of a man.

Care to look at what you follow from a moral POV?

Can you take the truth?

DL

it's amazing how you have to keep trying to dumb atheism down in order to try and make it seem dumber than religion but no matter how dumb you make atheism out to be it can never be as dumb as religion! that's just the hand you've dealt yourself.

Drew Jones says:
How does atheism (a position on the existence of gods) hold that a thought process is mindless when philosophical materialists accept the existence of brains and the product of them: minds.

Please walk me through the logic that makes you think and repeat this.

Tom

Try doing that to mine. It says that your theology is immoral and unworkable and that if you look at the morals of it you will see how poor it is.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4QXOgVfY9k&feature=player_embedded

But do not look. You have invested too much time in your religion to really care if it is moral or not. Therein lies the pity.

Those like you who idol worship will never find God nor the best morals.

DL

well that and demanding that science dots all the i's and crosses all the t's whilst happily adhering to a religion that has trouble forming a coherent idea! But Tom seems to have it particularly bad in needing to constantly claim Atheism to be dumb, stupid, incoherent etc and it looks to be a combination of denial and desperation to bolster up his views. the problem is he's trying to build with substandard materials on quicksand and no matter what he tries to use to gain a firm footing it keeps giving way and he continues to sink. the only thing left is to shout out insults.

Was there any useful content in that post, Poopsey? No? Didn't think so.

"Atheism's problem is that its so astonishingly dumb."

I think you mean it's so astonishingly dumb, not its.

Reasonableness I always give.

It is to the reader to discern it.

Many do not want to and thus do not see it.

"Atheism's problem is that its so astonishingly dumb"

Name me one atheist that flew a building into a plane in return for an eternity of shagging virgins;

Name me one atheist that denied the Inquisition's Crimes;

Name me one atheist who lied about Galileo's mistreatment at the hands of the Church;

Name me one atheist foolish enough to tell a married couple the withdrawal method is fool-proof way of avoiding unwanted pregnancy.

Then the public will see who's taking the top prize in the idiocy sweepstakes.

"Atheism is simply an expression of the difference between man and God"

Atheism is the belief there are no gods.

Put even simpler.
