Sorry Bellatori, I went in to edit my post and deleted!

I agree....bullying is a horrible trait.

I thought the conclusion that the girls came to really explained alot. The young men that I have met that claim to be Gay are greatly magnified, almost a charicature. Very over the top. It makes me wonder why. The older Gay friends I have had are much more low key, by that I don't mean "Hiding" I just mean men...if that makes sense.
The younger ones are more theatrical....not that there is anything wrong in that!

Pixie - why did you delete your post? It made an interesting point about the influence of gender identity and image within a group. I'm not sure what this says about the likes of Tom M, but I suspect fear of losing ones "macho"- ness when amongst ones peers plays a large part in the homophobia we witness from certain males. Though I'm not so sure why women should object to gayness if it isn't a threat in the same way. Do women fear losing their feminine identity when confronted with lesbianism by behaving in an ultra-feminine way??

The high point for me was Spin's "contribution" where he conflated consensual sex with rape, bestiality, and paedophilia, and there was me thinking his credibility had bottomed out with his "there is no gravity" post.

Another overinflated, word bloated, meaningless, irrelevant, idiotic, utterly incorrect, festering steaming post from Spin.

I don't understand why homosexuality is such a big problem for them that they feel the need for convoluted explanations. Why not acceptance? Even if what they said was true, what difference would it make to the homosexual community? Are they expecting a mass conversion to heterosexuality because they've been proved right?

I'm glad that came across, I was worried my response was too subtle.

I am always baffled by people whose logic reasons that a being that created the universe, and has both omniscience, and omnipotence, would care about, let alone throw tantrums over, the 1.5% of gay people it had created behaving exactly as it had planned and knew they would?

Although I have in the past found his disputatious and idiotic statements tedious it didn't really bother me that much, I had him on ignore, and just read the odd post. Then in the thread about the couple jailed for letting their child die while they prayed for it's recovery, he lied about what I'd posted, repeatedly. It really annoyed me as I'd not considered him to be duplicitous just rather strange, and a bit of a troll. Since then his views on homosexuality have been utterly amoral, bigoted and repulsive. I now have no patience for the guy at all. Especially as he refused to acknowledge he'd lied about me, let alone apologise.

Perhaps someday Spin will test his theory about gravity by jumping off a tall building and recording the results.

Well most of the results anyway, I suspect an impartial observer will have to record the end result for him.

i once heard of someone that jumped off a high building to test whether hitting the ground from a great height would hurt. people with open windows on his 'flight path' down record him as saying "so far so good" pretty much all the way down!

yes it's not the falling so much as the landing that does the damage!

I think you make an interesting point K.
I had a lesbian friend that "Came out" later in life and wanted to try the club scene. She didn't want to go alone so I (straight) went along for moral support. I found the club was split into the He/she's and the ultra feminine. I did not feel threatened or in any way intimidated when approached by the feminine girls but was made uncomfortable by the more masculine girls who did come on quite strong.
My friend being the latter in her personality and dress was even more uncomfortable which made me smile inwardly. She thought that coming out would be a massive shock to her friends but we had all known for a long time but had not spoken to her or each other about it! How funny!

Pixie - a friend of ours tried to convince us he was neither hetero nor homosexual, but 'sexual'. We all knew he was in denial years before he actually came out, it was a relief for everyone when he did!

"The evidence seems to be pretty clear that no one is born homosexual."

Yet you have failed to cite that evidence, Tim. Why? Please do so.
