No: you don't now get to play the victim. If you accept that, at the very least, your comments could easily be construed as offensive or confrontational, we needn't pursue the question of whether they were intended to be. But the fault is still yours, for not picking your words more carefully. Going back to my original point in this little exchange, what is it you are trying to achieve with these comments? If you actually have something to say that is *not* meant to be offensive - what is it? If we take out the offensive content from the posts in question, what is left over?

That's not a rhetorical question: I want to give you a fair opportunity to say whatever it is that's on your mind. When you have *tried* to say something inoffensive, and been picked up on it anyway, that will be the time to complain.

Cheers RAB. Of course one can never be 100% certain of intention, but I don't believe anyone impartial could say those posts don't at any rate *read* offensively - and you confirm that.

I'm not getting embroiled in picking over your words. Go back to your own OP and read it again.

RABB says:
"QUOTE: "I live my life with joy and peace because i now know and understand it's meaning." - Mankind has searched for years and years for the meaning of life, so far only Monty Python seems to be able to give an explanation. But DB claims she understands her life's meaning. I am interested (as I'm sure the rest of mankind is) to find out what the meaning of your life is, and because you chose to completely ignore the question when challenged by myself and GH. Also, if you think you can answer the question (what is the meaning of life?) by all means share your thoughts!!!
DB, I look forward to your response!
Tom M you are banned from this forum."

That, to me, has a dismissive tone all over it. DB claims her faith has given her life meaning, you bring Monty Python into the debate. I think we're just going to be going round in circles here though.

Sam
I answered the question on 25th may on the thread where it was specifically aimed at me, by PP.

PP: So now you're the one who won't answer the question. By deleting your posts and trying to take the ball home, you confirm that you have nothing positive to say and that our interpretation of your comments was correct; on the other hand I may have been mistaken, in thinking you were a nice guy. It looks like you're one of those who sticks the boot in, expecting a round of applause, and then plays the innocent when they're called out on it. I think I prefer Biggie's honest thuggery, after all.

You're wasting your time deleting, anyway, because the structure of the discussion is obvious from the other posts.

RAB; Sam has always been fair, your presumption that he is taking sides is unfair.

And yes, there is a collosal amount of harm done by religion.

In reply to an earlier post on 30 May 2012, 12:16:51 BST
Careful... Agreeing with someone is seen as taking sides. ;-)

Answer my point directly. What harm is there in DB believing her faith gives her life some meaning?

In reply to an earlier post on 30 May 2012, 12:21:07 BST
It depends what that meaning is.

RAB, If you come on a public forum and support someone like Tom, and post nonsense like she does, then she can expect to get slated.

Sam- interesting isn't it, Diane brown-noses Tom (despite the lies and bile he posts) just because he is a catholic, but if atheists agree it is ganging up!

Popcorn- please do not look for logaic from the theists, Gullible Lith likes changing others names, then throws a tantrum if someone else does it.

Do not them get you down.

Apparently, getting annoyed about child rapists being protected by the church is a bad thing.

Incidentally, a woman guily of neglect and letting a child die from drinking poison is worthy of a suspended sentance, but shouting racist abuse ( also very wrong) on a tube is worthy of a custodial sentence. Funny old world isn't it?

Huh? Where did I say that I find your posts offensive? Think you have me confused with someone else.

"What harm is there in DB believing her faith gives her life some meaning?"

Depends on what a person's faith makes them do. DB's hissy fits over changes to the abortion law getting rejected didn't make particularly edifying reading. Nor her outright lies about how condoms cause diseases rather than preventing them.

No laughing matter when you consider how that lie has the potential to threaten lives.
