I'd suggest that both are from troubled family backgrounds, but that kinda comes with the musical territory.

Babyshambler says:
Very true,nc. However, no family, or personal connections with this one.

Well I can't find anything that shouts out (in fact not much whispers either) but they have both issued albums named after books in the bible. Wynonna Judd's Revelations and Mary Gauthier's Genesis

Good work, Al. That looks promising.

If only in a straw clutching sort of way....!

Ta nc. :-)

That's it Al, well spotted.

Good one, BS, I like these simple ones that make you go 'D'oh!'

In reply to an earlier post on 16 Sep 2013, 14:22:37 BST
Babyshambler says:
Cheers, nc. Sometimes the 'simple' ones can prove the most difficult. Fair play to Al for getting it on his first attempt.

Not a lot to work with from Mary Gauthier but here goes...

Mary Gauthier to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

In reply to an earlier post on 17 Sep 2013, 17:31:38 BST
Babyshambler says:
Well, we've got to start somewhere.

Mary Gauthier opened a restaurant in Boston, which is where JFK was born.
JFK's wife later became, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

RedAlFire says:
Indeed you have Bs....but not with food. You need to start with a track of MG's...

In reply to an earlier post on 19 Sep 2013, 12:23:09 BST
Babyshambler says:
Mary Gauthier recorded 'March 11th, 1962', which was also her birthday. On that very same date, Pope John XX111 had a meeting in Rome with Jacqueline Kennedy, who later became Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

RedAlFire says:
Is the right answer Bs. Well done, you'll note I didn't mention a musical track initially as Wiki denotes that 'March 11th, 1962' is a spoken track. Apparently JKO's Papal visit was reportedly the longest personal meeting that Pope gave.

All yours.

Babyshambler says:
Thanks Al. I wonder if Jacqueline was discussing her husband's 'love affairs'. Now that would have taken up most of the time I would imagine.

I'll be back later with something.

RedAlFire says:
If JFK said 'I'll be back later with something' no wonder she went to see the Pope! :-)

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to Olivia de Havilland

RedAlFire says:
I'll go with the fact that JKO's wedding dress in 1953 (for her marriage to JFK) was designed by Ann Cole Lowe, as was the gown that Olivia de Havilland wore when she accepted the oscar for best actress in 1946? Being of African-American race she was not given the credit she deserved for the intricate designs until shortly before her death in 1981.

That's it Al. All yours.

Olivia de Havilland to R.E.M. (the band)

In reply to an earlier post on 21 Sep 2013, 13:24:45 BST
Babyshambler says:
Olivia de Havilland's sister, Joan Fontaine, starred in the Hitchcock classic movie 'Suspicion', which was also a song recorded by R.E.M.

Yep well done! Difficult lead off from OdH without getting embroiled too much into films

Thanks Al.

R.E.M. to Jon Voight.

RedAlFire says:
In 1991, the Troggs joined members of R.E.M. on Athens Andover, an eleven-song collaboration, recorded in the American band's hometown of Athens, Georgia, released in March 1992. The Troggs' best known song 'Wild Thing' (originally recorded by The Wild Things) was written by Chip Taylor who is John Voight's brother.

If right won't be able to post anything until Monday evening earliest, off to see some sand sculptures along the Algarve at Pera.
