Sj, SJH & Neil...off the subject but can any or all of you nominate an artist please for the Fave Artist thread? You don't have to do anything else - just nominate one...it will help get the total nearer to 50, we only need 2 more to do that!! But 3 would be even better! Carra, nc, Lez, Gordon, me...we've all done so. You don't even have to go there, just put it on here and I'll add it. List of artists already nominated....

Alice Cooper, Average White Band, Beach Boys, Blue Oyster Cult, Caravan, Chic, Crowded House, Curtis Mayfield, Deep Purple, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Eagles, Earth And Fire, Earth. Wind And Fire, Fairport Convention, Hawkwind, Iggy Popp & The Stooges, Jethro Tull, Johnny Cash, King Crimson, Leonard Cohen, Magnetic Fields, Marvin Gaye, Motley Cure, Motorhead, New Riders Of The Purple Sage, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Patty Griffin, Paul Kelly, Phish, Pretty Things, Queen, Richard Thompson, Roxy Music, Rush, Ry Cooder, Smashing Pumpkins, Stackridge, Tears For Fears, Ted Hawkins, Tim Buckley, UFO, Underworld, Van Halen, Van Morrison, Warpaint, Waterboys, Wilco, Yes.

I thought the letter count would give it away....

Motley = Different coloured
Crue = Mix of cure elements

Hot Legs (Rod Stewart song; 10cc before name-change).

Tony Blackburn was playing the top 10 from 1978 on Radio 2 yesterday. I'm suffering from a bad case of nostalgia, as I hated most of those records at the time but love hearing them again now. What struck me most was my ability to sing along with Dee-Dee Wilde's "Automatic Lover" despite not having heard it for 34 years (and having, at the time, thought it greatly inferior to The Vibrators' single of the same title that was much less successful in the charts).

Sj Brooke says:
'HotLegs' of course is correct, Gordon.
I bought The Vibrators album 'V2' with 'Automatic Lover' track on it all those years ago [..sigh...]
Had to spotify it earlier today to remind myself.

Gordon D says:
I never thought all that much of The Vibrators, to be honest, but it was the done thing to support any group parading under the punk banner. I was on security for a gig they played at my college in 1983/4. It was the most violent event during all my time there: knives, glasses, the lot.
