Are you away from the old apothecary shoppe today and are posting this tripe to ease your boredom?

why stop there:
Ban all cars - push bikes, skateboards and donkey carts only.
Demolish all houses and replace with parkhomes.
Ban all processed food, and issue every person with a Cuba style ration card
Put clothing on ration - two outfits a year per person max, smart casual as worn by The Gomsy.
Ban all mechanisation circa Albania 1965...sorted.

Oh my lord...

Solutions man....seek answers...REAL answers...think more....how will a new runway at Heathrow impact on the lives of those who live there? I lived two miles from the airport for thirty four years....the GOMS knows...

The GOMS never experiences boredom.

Triple glazing. New quiet planes. Zen meditation. Mind over matter...

Good for The Gomsy.

Suggestion: howzabout The Gomsy spends a bit of the time he's not being bored, thinking through some of his crap proposals before he posts them?

gille liath says:
I think you're right, although I don't think it could be done as straightforwardly as that. The principle is right.

The starting point should be for aviation to pay the same fuel taxes as everyone else.

When Al Gore, Prince Charles and Sting reduce their carbon footprints to what mine is now I'll think about reducing mine a bit.

Ah, the old level playing field argument. In which case, first remove the subsidies rail gets from the gov paying for the infrastructure and subsidising operating costs.

The GOMS types for all....

Hang on me old Gomsy, I recall you posting, more than once, that our fine Ukeyland Kingdom has no resource problemos and can take at least double the pop it has now...all on two flights a piece, plus the rest of their carbon footprints...

In reply to an earlier post on 17 Dec 2013 16:49:46 GMT
Gomsy me old mucker, I was not put on this planet to make meself neurotic wittering about me carbon footprint. But it's a freeish world and it's your human right to get your posing panties in a twist and live like a fracking well Third Century hermit monk if you want, whilst Al Gore runs up a $20,000 a year bill to light just one of his Heavenly Father's many mansions. Why don't you have a word with bonny Prince Charlie and see if he will mend his ways before you start going on about me eggo? I thank you.

Stuff that. I have a tiny carbon foot print...I don't eat much for starters, drive about 4,000 miles a year and have a woodburning stove...direct your prattle elsewhere.

......pop!....

Garscadden says:
I'm not suggesting you should, but you can get to spain by rail. Pending how close to London or Ashford you live probably defines how unpleasant a journey it is.

Defenceman says:
Gordon Bennett,

'I have a tiny carbon foot print...I don't eat much for starters, drive about 4,000 miles a year and have a woodburning stove...direct your prattle elsewhere.'

Ditto. You sound exactly like me.

No thanks. I live 20 mins by taxi from Luton airport, arrive 1 hour before takeoff, 2hr flight to El Prat, 30 mins to clear airport, 20 min ride into Barcelona. How long did you say the train ride was?
