PS - do you think there are more of those phobics out there waiting to punish Duran fans?

Hi Val, I clicked on one of your latest buys (Wagons?) on zon usa for a quick listen. It was the only one on your list that had a 'listen to all' option.

Red Mosquito says:
Gentle Spirit I only bought this because for some reason it was in HMV's pre owned rack with a £2 price tag. I got it home only to find it was brand new and sealed. Now, here's the best bit. It contains some of the best music I have heard in years.

Graceland 25th Anniversary Collector's Edition Box Set A Black Friday bargain that I intended to sell on. Problem is, I love it so it's staying.

EPs 1991 - 2002 I don't like most electronica that I've heard but these 2 chaps from Rochdale know how to do it brilliantly imo

Little Kingdom Released in 2007. A little gem that nearly passed me by

The Studio Albums 1968-1979 A fantastic Joni journey that takes me from her first 2 mediocre albums to the last 3 that are amongst the best albums I've heard.

Welcome 2 My NightmareAlice Cooper Not brilliant but still good.

Banga Patti Smith: Much Impressed ... And performed brilliantly live

Parallel Universe Hawkwind: A real gem of a collection for all Hawkind fans.

Thick As a Brick 2 Ian Anderson/Jethro Tull. Saw Ian Anderson do both TAB1 and TAB2 live so i had to have it.

Killer Alice Cooper A classic! I have been slowly buying up my past loves.

vpenner2 says:
1) Grieg's Slatter Op. 72 (Buen, Steen-Nokleberg) Amazing to hear the contrast between the original Norwegian fiddle tunes and the piano pieces Grieg wrote based on them. Wonderful performances by Knut Buen and Einer Steen-Nockleberg

2) Grieg: Chasing the Butterfly A note-for-note re-creation of recorded performances by Grieg himself, using modern equipment, and a modern performer.

3) Enesco - Sonata no.3; Ravel - Tzigane Interesting to hear an actual lutheal instead of the usual piano in Ravel's Tzigane. It was originally written for violin and lutheal.

4) Jake Shimabukuro Gently Weeps Ukulele virtuoso solo album, just him, the ukulele, and nothing in the background.

5) Music from the rock musical buddy comedy version of Twelfth Night, staged at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada in 2011. The CD is not available on Amazon, but I got it from the festival's website.

Mostly downloaded a lot of cheap MP3s of classic Dub, old school psy trance and downtempo but not much new stuff. Probably the best CDs I bought all year were
Blackwood Dub by Sly and Robbie
Wonky by Orbital
1992-2012 Anthology by Underworld
Cardiac Arrest/We All Know Who We Are by Cameo. Been trying to get Cardiac Arrest on CD for yonks
Woob 1194 - decided to shell out a fair bit of wonga on this gem of ambient electronica even though i had it on MP3

Bought a lot last year, tough to pin down but I'd say
Django Django - Django Django
Goat - World Music
Fiona Apple - The Idler Wheel....
David Byrne & St Vincent - Love This Giant
Silversun Pickups - Neck of the Woods

Bit of a mixture there and quite a few others that could easily make that list
