not a musician - but his SuperMarinAnatIon driven techniques of TV puppetry were decorated with many fine sounds and songs...

Stingray - Aqua Marina - my first love, this was our tune.
Captain Scarlett - the indestructible man prepared us for what the adult world would demand..
Thunderbirds - Thunderbirds Are Go! - yes instilled in me the values of public service and the deep need to be a rescuer...
not to mention a perverted interest in posh birds like - Lady Penelope: At Your Service

then there was Joe 90 - education was important, and even heros could wear specs.

Barry Gray has certainly risen even further in my estimation now I know he wrote the music to UFO - long live Farfisas and tambourines.

Fireball XL5 Madness

Space: 1999 Year 1

after UFO, Ufo - Shado-Variations On A Theme set in 1980, I could never get over my disappointment that the 1980s did not live up to the expectations of the 1970s.....and don't start me on the 21st century.....no moon base, no silver onesies, no rocket packs or flying cars, not even vitamin pills instead of meals...and how come all these robots have not turned up to do the house work and stuff...I was sold a crock

Yep, helmets full of Fairy Liquid, to keep them clean on the way to earth possibly. UFO was a great show.

Space 1999, well now, that was something else. I really liked the design of the Eagle spacecraft, but that was about it. The storys were bonkers.

The Secret Service - The Complete Series [DVD] this was an odd one, a vicar who was an agent who had another agent - quite possibly his son - who was joe 90 with a paint job, and this son shrank, yes, shrank, into a little tiny man who could fit in a suitcase. And together this..er...vicar...and this, this tiny boy would fight crime and such like.

can't wait for the Hollywood re-launch movie of this one. what ? music forum..oh right..er..hang on a sec...

The Secret Service Main Theme - yes ! the mighty Mike Sammes Singers kicking bottoms and taking names...

sorry I was wrong (and interestingly so from a psychiatric point of view) - the Vicar was played by Stanley Unwin - the oddly voice gentleman who did the odd narration bits in that Small Faces album - Ogden's Nut Gone Flake [Deluxe Edition] - and it was his Gardener (Matthew) not his joe90esque son..who shrank down into a little tiny puppet man so he could be left in places inside a suitcase - then climb out, sort things out and then hide back in the suitcase again.Must have been a gas at customs x-ray....'did you pack this bag yourself sir?' - 'no twas packed verily by that little tiny man - whose skeleton you are after observing within the very same case'
music ? er...Stanley Unwin turns up here and there, even sharing his excellent thoughts on music itself - ideal sampling material for people who like that sort of thing...Rotatey Diskers With Unwin he he he - its fun in partly bytheways and such
