Stop swigging that Strongbow! - LOL! ;o> ...

When we came to the Station all the trains were rusty, The doors were open and the windows broken in
There was grass in all the cracks and the air hung musty, The travel posters were flapping in the wind
So we moved through the dust and gloom, Playing waiting games in the Waiting Room
Lay our sleeping-bags out on the floor ...
And on Sunday morning easy rider comes to me with Apple Cider, Leaves me here without a place to go

If I followed the Coast Road, I'd be home by evening, The Harbour lights still cut across the Bay
From the slot machine Arcade the lights go streaming, To the bikes outside the Rock 'n' Roll Cafe
Ahhh, but you know those small town blues, Are really too much to lose
There's nothing really there to go back for ...
And on Sunday morning easy rider comes to me with Apple Cider, Leaves me here without a place to go

Now dear old Mabel, when she’s able
We takes a stroll down lover’s lane
And we’ll sink a pint of Sproffey
And we’ll play old natures game
But we end up in the duck pond
The pub is sized to close
With me breeches full of tadpoles
And the newts between me toes

Chorus:
I am a cider drinker
I drinks it all of the day
I am a cider drinker
It soothes all me troubles away
Ooh aargh ooh argh aay
Ooh aargh ooh argh aay
(the wurzels - what's wrong with me?)

I'm writing you, my dear, Just to tell you, In September, you remember
'Neath the old apple tree, You whispered to me, When it blossomed again, you'd be mine

I've waited until I could claim you, I hope I've not waited in vain?
For when it's Spring in the valley, I'm coming, my sweetheart, again!

I'll be with you in apple blossom time, I'll be with you to change your name to mine
One day in May, I'll come and say: "Happy the bride the sun shines on today!"

What a wonderful wedding there will be, What a wonderful day for you and me!
Church bells will chime, You will be mine, In apple blossom time

(Nat King Cole)

You've been stood around for years
Seen my smiles and touched my tears
How it's been a long, long time
And how you've been on my mind, my Apple Scruffs
Apple Scruffs, Apple Scruffs
How I love you, how I love you
(George Harrison)

Delilah the dancer from Soho
Was making her way down the lane
Simpson from Harrow
Had fruit on his barrow
He sold it for love and for gain

Simpson said, "Hello, young woman"
"My Pippins are lovely today"
"Don't be suspicious"
"Of Golden Delicious"
"Whatever your granny might say"

There only apples, red and green
Apples, lovely ripe and juicy and especially for you
Right off me barrw, me old cock sparrow
Apples, red and green

And the sequel ;o> ...

Six long years ago, My Johnny upped and marched away
He simply said, "I love you so, And I'll be back one day"

Well, I'm still sittin' under the apple tree, The apple tree, the apple tree
Still sittin' under the apple tree, With nobody else but me!

The apples are ripe on the apple tree, The apple tree, the apple tree
Apples are ripe on the apple tree, Ohhh, where can my Johnny be?

I just got a letter from Paris, It said "just a few weeks more"
I'm thinkin' of going to Paris, Just to tell him we won the War!

I'm still sittin' under the apple tree, The apple tree, the apple tree
Still sittin' under the apple tree, With nobody else but me!

I just got a letter from Paris, It said "just a few weeks more"
I'm thinkin' of going to Paris, Just to tell him we won the War!

I'm still sittin' under the apple tree, The apple tree, the apple tree
Still sittin' under the apple tree, With nobody else but me!

... How many apples can you eat?!!

A devout and well respected man
Woe betide you if you wander from God's plan
Square shouldered, straight as a die
The righteous truth, he never tell you no lies

But when that old sun go down
He's heading off up the wrong side of town
Eyes sparkle in the red light glow
Trouser pockets he's ready to go

Ooooooooooooh
Calm down, Mr. Apples
You're gonna do yourself in
Tell us where you've been
(madness)

I wrote my Mother, I wrote my Father, And now I'm writing you too
I'm sure of Mother, I'm sure of Father, And now I want to be sure
Very, very sure, Of you

Don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me
Anyone else but me, anyone else but me, no, no, no
Don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me, Till I come marching home

Don't go walking down Lovers' Lane with anyone else but me
Anyone else but me, anyone else but me, no, no, no
Don't go walking down Lovers' Lane with anyone else but me, Till I come marching home

I just got word from a guy who heard, From the guy next-door to me
The girl he met just loves to pet, And it fits you to a T?
So don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me, Till I come marching home

The sun comes swaggering across the harbour,
And kisses the lady waiting in the narrows,
She already plenty shaky stands there,
Blushing, clutching the torch of liberty,
Uptown Luigi who don't speak english so good,
Is having an accident,
Backing his dumptruck into the fence,
The tin cans go clattering down the lane,
A drowsy bum thinks its thunder,
And pulls the news over his head to stop the rain.

No, it ain't judgement day,
No, it ain't Armageddon,
It's just the apple stretching and yawning, just morning.

New York putting it's feet on the floor,
It's just the apple stretching and yawning, just morning,
New York putting it's feet on the floor.

Just when romance got a start? You decided it was time to part?
How could you? ... How could you? ...
It was on a night like this, You left me and didn't leave a kiss
How could you? ... How could you? ...

You know that love is just like Apple Pie, It's either sweet or tart
You could be the apple of my eye, But you, you, you upset the apple cart
I was looking forward to, All those little things you didn't do
How could you? ... Could you break my heart?

(Billie Holiday)

It's Lucy in the sky and all kinds of apple pie
She giggle[s] at the screen 'cause it looks so green
There's carpets on the pavement
And feathers in her eye
But sooner or later, her new friends will realize
That Julie's been working for the Drug Squad
Julie's been working for the Drug Squad

She can't even look you in the eye

(Well) Well it seemed like a dream; too good to be true
Stash it in the bank while the tablets grow high
In their Millions
And everybody's high (Hi, man...)
But there's someone looking down
From that mountain side
'Cause Julie's been working for the Drug Squad
'Cause Julie's been working for the Drug Squad
Gumbo!

[And it's] Ten years for you
Nineteen for you
And you can get out in twenty-five
That is if you're still alive
Oh oh, alive
(clash)

Well if you see ol' Annie, better give her a lift, 'Cause Annie's been a-workin' on the midnight shift

If Annie puts her hair up on her head, Paints them lips up bright bright red
Wears that dress that fits real tight, Starts stayin' out late till the middle of the night
Says to her friend, give her a lift? Well Annie's been a-workin' on the midnight shift
If she acts a little funny, seems a little strange? Starts spending your money for brand new things
Tells you that she wants to use the car, Never explains what she wants it for?
Brother, there just ain't no ifs, 'Cause Annie's been a-workin' on the midnight shift

Well early in the morning when the sun comes up, You look at ol' Annie and she looks kinda rough
You tell her, honey, get out of that bed, She says, leave me alone I'm just about dead
Brother, there just ain't no ifs, 'Cause Annie's been a-workin' on the midnight shift
If you got a good mama that's stayin' at home, You better enjoy, 'cause it won't last long
When you think everything's all right, She starts slippin' round in the middle of the night
Brother, there just ain't no ifs, 'Cause Annie's been a-workin' on the midnight shift

Lip up, fatty, ah, lip up, fatty, for the reggae
Lip up, fatty, ah, lip up, fatty, for the reggae

Listen to the music, shuffle up your feet
Listen to the music of the fatty beat

Lip up, fatty, ah, lip up, fatty, for the reggae
Lip up, fatty, ah, lip up, fatty, for the reggae

Moving with the rhythm, sweating with the heat
Moving with the rhythm of the fatty beat

Lip up, fatty, ah, lip up, fatty, for the reggae

Because you know ... I'm all about that bass, 'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass, 'Bout that bass, no treble, I'm all about that bass, 'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass, 'Bout that bass ... Hey! ...

I'm bringing booty back, Go 'head and tell them skinny b. 1tches that
No, I'm just playing! ... I know you think you're fat? But I'm here to tell you ...
Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top!

So, on Wednesday our lovely little hairy woofer, Tia, had a grand total of SEVEN(!) Teeth taken out under Anaesthetic - and thankfully has recovered well although she is still on Painkillers and Antibiotics and having her usual dry Dogfood in soft wet tinned form instead. We have never had a Dog with Dental issues before but the Vet has reassured us that it is not our fault at all and that her Sister's Teeth are in perfect condition. It all cost just over a £1000?! - thank God for Pet Insurance! ;o>

(I'm in the mood)
I need some food, some food
(I need some food)
And I'm feeling rude, so rude
(I'm feeling rude)

I say now, when you feel it girl
You gonna say it's (so nice)
I say now, when you feel it girl
You gonna say it's (so nice)
Get it galore, galore, galore
(get it galore)
Till you won't want no more, no, no, no, girl

You won't want no more, no more, no more
(want no more)

What's been happening in your world? What have you been up to?
I heard that you fell in love, Or near enough, I gotta tell you the truth …

I wanna grab both your shoulders and shake, baby, Snap out of it (Snap out of it)
I get the feeling I left it too late but, baby, Snap out of it (Snap out of it)
If that watch don't continue to swing, Or the fat lady fancies having a sing
I'll be here waiting ever so patiently for you to, Snap out of it

Forever isn't for everyone, Is forever for you?
It sounds like settling down or giving up, But it don't sound much like you, girl? ...

I can’t concentrate, I’m in a state
I don’t feel straight, I can’t love or hate
I can't feel nothing, can’t feel no sting
Only just learning, I ain’t a king

You’re in a rut,
You gotta get out of it - out of it - out of it - out of it - out of it
You’re in a rut,
You gotta get out of it - out of it - out of it......out of it!

I'm crazy flowing over with ideas, A thousand ways to woo a lover so sincere
Love and hate, what a beautiful combination, Sending shivers up and down my spine

For every Cassanova that appears, My sense of hesitation disappears
Love and hate, what a beautiful combination, Sending shivers up and down my spine

And the lovers that you sent for me, Didn't come with any satisfaction guarantee
So I'll return them to the sender, And the note attached will read ...
"How I love to hate you, I love to hate you, I love to hate you ... I love to hate you!"

I was thinking of a compromise when
I saw the beauty in your eyes
It heightened something in me so I'll say so,
You were always near to me
And thoughts of you will stay with me
Until the day I die

You were standing next to me
In '82 and '83
In all that time
I barely proved I loved you
Well there's nothing wrong but the wrong in me
You were everything you were meant to be

Now I just want to say this to you
Listen to this, Iisten to this,
I love you, I love you
(dexy's midnight runners)

I don't know why I love you but I do? I don't know why I cry so but I do?
I only know I'm lonely, and that I want you only, I don't know why I love you but I do?

I can't sleep nights because I feel so restless, I don't know what to do? I feel so helpless
And since you've been away, I cry both night and day, I don't know why I love you but I do?

My days have been so lonely, My nights have been so blue, I don't know how I manage but I do?
Each night I sit alone and tell myself, That I will fall in love with someone else ...
I guess I'm wastin' time, but I've got to clear my mind, I don't know why I love you but I do?

I don't know why I love her like I do
All the changes you put me through
Take my money, my cigarettes
I haven't seen the worst of it yet
I want to know that you'll tell me
I love to stay
Take me to the river, drop me in the water
Take me to the river, dip me in the water
Washing me down, washing me down

I don't know why you treat me so bad
Think of all the things we could have had
Love is an ocean that I can't forget
My sweet sixteen I would never regret

I want to know that you'll tell me
I love to stay
Take me to the river, drop me in the water
Push me in the river, dip me in the water
Washing me down, washing me

Sacred, secret forest, where the breeze smells sweet
Grateful to awaken from a deep sleep
Dreaming of the river we have known
And the river flows downstream
'Course it does
That river knows our dreams
Clear as God, this river we have seen
Just droplets of
But here the drops converge in this stream

I have a dream, a song to sing, To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale, You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels, Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels, When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream

I have a dream, a fantasy, To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while, Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels, Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels, When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream, I'll cross the stream - I have a dream

I had a dream
I had a dream
I had a dream, Joe

I had a dream, Joe
You were standing in the middle of an open road
I had a dream, Joe
Your hands were raised up to the sky
And your mouth was covered in foam
I had a dream, Joe
A shadowy Jesus flitted from tree to tree
I had a dream, Joe
And a society of whores stuck needles in an image of me
I had a dream, Joe
It was Autumn time and thickly fell the leaves
And in that dream, Joe
A pimp in seersucker suit sucked a toothpick
And pointed his finger at me

I had a dream,
I had a dream,
I had a dream, Joe

Sweet dreams are made of this, Who am I to disagree?
I travel the world and the seven seas, Everybody's looking for something

Some of them want to use you, Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you, Some of them want to be abused

Sweet dreams are made of this, Who am I to disagree?
I travel the world and the seven seas, Everybody's looking for something
