Michelle of Total Rock conducted an interview with bassist/vocalist Marco Hietala of Finnish/Swedish symphonic metallers NIGHTWISH earlier today (Friday, June 8) at the Download festival at Donington Park in Leicestershire, United Kingdom. You can now watch the chat below.

NIGHTWISH will embark on a North American headlining tour in September with support from KAMELOT.

For more information, visit EnterTheVault.com.

NIGHTWISH released a limited-edition "Trials Of Imaginaerum" 10-inch picture disc for Record Store Day (April 21). The effort includes four previously unreleased demo recordings with Marco Hietala on lead vocals. It also comes with a download of the previously unreleased track "The Heart Asks Pleasure First", a cover with lyrics from the movie "The Piano".

"Trials Of Imaginaerum" features a picture of "The Crew, The Owl And The Dove" on one side, and the "Imaginaerum" grounds on the other side.

"The Crow, The Owl And The Dove", the second single from NIGHTWISH's latest album, "Imaginaerum", entered the official chart in Finland at position No. 1. The single features the title cut in three versions - radio edit, album version and instrumental - and the previously unreleased song "The Heart Asks Pleasure First" (theme from the movie "The Piano") in two different versions.

NIGHTWISH released a special "tour edition" of "Imaginaerum", on April 13 via Nuclear Blast Records. It is a 2CD+DVD digibook in slipcase.

"Imaginaerum" sold 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 27 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, 2007's "Dark Passion Play", opened with 11,000 units to land at No. 84.

"Imaginaerum" was released in North America on January 10 via Roadrunner Records.

KING DIAMOND held a press conference earlier today (Friday, June 8) at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden. Video footage of some of the questin-and-answer session can be seen below.

As previously reported, KING DIAMOND will play only two shows in Europe this summer:

June 09 - Sweden Rock Festival - Sölvesborg, SWE
June 15 - Hellfest - Clisson, France

Legendary Danish heavy metal singer King Diamond (KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE) (real name: Kim Bendix Petersen), 55, underwent open-heart triple-bypass surgery in November 2010. He has since completed his cardiac rehabilitation program and has stopped smoking entirely, changed his diet and is getting regular exercise, according to his wife Livia Zita.

King Diamond made his long-anticipated return to the stage with his MERCYFUL FATE bandmates Hank Shermann, Timi Hansen and Michael Denner on December 7, 2011 at the second of four intimate shows at the Fillmore in San Francisco as part of METALLICA's week-long celebration of its 30th anniversary as a band for fan club members only.

King Diamond played a surprise three-song set on January 27 at Tree's in Dallas, Texas during the "5th Annual Nomad Recording Studio Throwdown". King, who appeared without his trademark makeup, was joined for the performance by Michael Harris on guitar, Neil Brincks on bass, J.T. Longoria on guitar and Matt Thompson (KING DIAMOND, SHAOLIN DEATH SQUAD) on drums. King also presented awards at the event, which featured additional performances by BORN & RAISED, SHAOLIN DEATH SQUAD, LOVE STRICKEN DEMISE and RIVETHEAD.

Metal Hammer TV conducted an interview with bassist Adam Duce of San Francisco Bay Area metallers MACHINE HEAD earlier today (Friday, June 8) at the Download festival at Donington Park in Leicestershire, United Kingdom. You can now watch the chat below. Also available is a separate interview with Duce and MACHINE HEAD guitarist Phil Demmel posted by the official Download YouTube channel.

As previously reported, MACHINE HEAD is the final act confirmed for this year's Bloodstock Open Air festival, set to take place August 10-12 at Catton Hall in Walton On Trent, Derbyshire, England.

Fans will be given the unprecedented opportunity to influence MACHINE HEAD's setlist. Commemorating the 20th anniversary of the band's first-ever live performance at their roadie Mike "Scum"'s getting-evicted-from-his-house party - for which they performed five songs - the band will give Bloodstock ticket holders the opportunity to vote for the five "Burn My Eyes" songs they most want to hear MACHINE HEAD play during their headline set Saturday night, with the five that receive the most votes included in the set list (details to follow).

For more information, visit Bloodstock.uk.com.

MACHINE HEAD recently announced plans to film a video for the song 'Darkness Within' in the Czech Republic. The track comes off the band's new album, "Unto The Locust", which sold more than 17,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 22 on The Billboard 200 chart - putting MACHINE HEAD in the Top 25 for the first time in the band's 17-year history.

Kerrang! magazine conducted an interview with HALESTORM singer Lzzy Hale and bassist Josh Smith earlier today (Friday, June 8) at the Download festival at Donington Park in Leicestershire, United Kingdom. You can now watch the chat below.

HALESTORM made history with its electrifying new single, "Love Bites (So Do I)". The track - featured on the Pennsylvania-based band's breakthrough new album, "The Strange Case Of..." - has ascended to No. 1 at Active Rock radio outlets nationwide, marking the first ever female-fronted group to top the format's airplay ranking.

HALESTORM will celebrate its sensational success with an epic summer touring schedule, comprising a U.S. headline trek, high-profile festival appearances, a series of much-anticipated European dates, and a number of support slots alongside AVENGED SEVENFOLD.

"The Strange Case Of..." is shaping up as HALESTORM's biggest release thus far. The album made a stunning No. 1 debut on Billboard's "Hard Rock Albums" chart, while also making a Top 15 entry onto The Billboard 200. In addition, "The Strange Case Of..." has proven a top 10 success on both the "Rock Albums" and "Alternative Albums" rankings.

Produced by Howard Benson (who previously collaborated with HALESTORM on their self-titled 2009 debut), "The Strange Case Of..." includes such explosive tracks as "Here's To Us", which shot to No. 1 on iTunes' "Top Rock Songs" chart after being featured in a February 2012 episode of Fox's hit series "Glee".

Quality fan-filmed video footage of former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach performing the SKID ROW classic "Slave To The Grind" this past Thursday (June 7) at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden can be seen below.

Bach last week released a video for the song "I'm Alive". The clip is one of three videos (alongside "Kicking & Screaming" and "TunnelVision") that the singer filmed on June 28, 2011 in Hollywood, California with director Devin DeHaven of Fortress Entertainment (PAPA ROACH, WHITESNAKE, METHOD MAN, TALIB KWELI).

"I'm Alive" comes off Bach's new album, "Kicking & Screaming", which sold 6,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 73 on The Billboard 200 chart. The singer's previous CD, "Angel Down", opened with 6,400 units back in November 2007 to debut at No. 190.

Fan-filmed video footage of SEPULTURA's June 7 performance at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden can be seen below.

SEPULTURA played its first show with new drummer Eloy Casagrande (GLÓRIA, ANDRÉ MATOS) on November 25, 2011 in Lichtenfels, Germany.

Casagrande joined SEPULTURA as the replacement for Jean Dolabella, who left the band because he could no longer handle being away from home for long periods of time.

Eloy is a 21-year-old drum prodigy from São Paulo, Brazil who won the Modern Drummer "Undiscovered Drummer" contest as a teenager in 2006.

Dolabella left SEPULTURA after a five-year run of relentless touring and two studio albums. He joined SEPULTURA in 2006 following the departure of the band's original drummer, Igor Cavalera.

SEPULTURA is touring in support of its 12th studio album, and Nuclear Blast Records debut, "Kairos", which hit stores in July 2011.

Reunited hard rockers UGLY KID JOE performed this past Friday (June 8) at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden. Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below. Also available is an interview with UGLY KID JOE singer Whitfield Crane conducted at this year's Download festival, which is being held June 8-10 at Donington Park in Leicestershire, United Kingdom.

UGLY KID JOE released a new six-song EP, "Stairway To Hell", digitally on June 5 and will make it available physically on July 9.

"Stairway To Hell" heralds UGLY KID JOE's return, containing songs spanning the full repertoire of influences which made UGLY KID JOE one of the prime soundtracks for young snowboarders, surfers, keggers and characters worldwide. Whether it's "Devil's Paradise", with it's hypnotic riffery and hook line, grooving and grinding its hips seductively, the melodic power-fueled darkness of "No One Survives" or the irrepressibly memorable chug-and-chorus of "I'm Alright" it's clear that UGLY KID JOE have everything they started with plus fatter chops and a (frankly) superior curve on songwriting.

"Stairway To Hell" track listing:

01. Devil's Paradise
02. You Make Me Sick
03. No One Survives
04. I'm Alright
05. Love Ain't True! (feat. Angelo Moore and Dirty Walt of FISHBONE)
06. Another Beer

All six tracks can now be streamed using the widget below. Also available is the video for "Devil's Paradise", which was filmed in early April in Lake Tahoe, Nevada with Mike and Dave Hatchett of Standard Films.

UGLY KID JOE released three full-length albums and toured extensively throughout the 1990s before disbanding in 1997.

UGLY KID JOE 2012 is:

Whitfield Crane - Vocals
Klaus Eichstadt - Guitar
Dave Fortman - Guitar
Cordell Crockett - Bass
Shannon Larkin - Drums

Kerrang! magazine conducted an interview with vocalist Dez Fafara of California metallers DEVILDRIVER at this year's Download festival, which is being held June 8-10 at Donington Park in Leicestershire, United Kingdom. You can now watch the chat below.

The DEVILDRIVER-headlined Metal Alliance Tour - which also featured THE FACELESS, DYING FETUS, JOB FOR A COWBOY, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, IMPENDING DOOM and WRETCHED - kicked off on March 15 at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas and concluded on April 21 in Houston, Texas.

When asked about the progress of the songwriting sessions for DEVILDRIVER's sixth album, Fafara told Peek From The Pit in a March 2012 interview, "We used to put a record every two years. I don't think it's gonna be [like that this time]. We are free agents right now, which means we're [no longer signed to Roadrunner Records and we're] talking to many record companies. It's gonna be a very critical record for us, when it does come out, and we're gonna take time to write it. I actually heard one track the other night that is incredible. We all started writing vocals to it right when we were sitting in the back [of the bus], so if it's gonna stay on that route, I think it's gonna be an incredible record."

Dez also spoke about the the musical direction of DEVILDRIVER's new material and whether the band will attempt to make the next record even more "brutal" than "Beast". "We continue to make our records diverse, which is cool," he said. "Every record is different with DEVILDRIVER, so I think we're gonna surpass what we've done in the past. And then going into the 'brutal' question, it's like, man, everybody is as brutal as everybody now. So we wanna have some diversity and we wanna have some moments and some clarity within the songs. I think the thing we're really focused on is songwriting. We don't have a producer chosen, we don't have the [studio] time [booked]. We don't even know if we're gonna release a record in 2013, maybe 2014, or maybe fall of 2013; we're not sure. So there's all this stuff up in the air. But what we do know is we're having a good time writing and exchanging feelings on the songs. . . Like I said, it's gonna be a very important record in our career, so we're gonna take time and we're gonna craft it."

As previously reported, DEVILDRIVER bassist Aaron "Bubble" Patrick sat out the Metal Alliance Tour after being diagnosed with Streptococcus pneumonia, an inflammation and swelling of the lung, caused by an infection with the bacteria. Filling in for Patrick was his former BURY YOUR DEAD bandmate Chris Towning.

Patrick joined DEVILDRIVER as the replacement for Jonathan Miller, who quit the band in March 2011, calling it "the most difficult decision of my life" but "something that I needed to do for myself."

Kerrang! and Terry "Beez" Bezer of Download festival's "The Lowdown Reloaded" conducted separate interviews with Richmond, Virginia metallers LAMB OF GOD at this year's Download festival, which is being held June 8-10 at Donington Park in Leicestershire, United Kingdom. You can now watch the footage below.

LAMB OF GOD recently released the first trailer for their projected 2013 feature film, "As The Palaces Burn". The film, directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker Don Argott and produced by 9.14 Pictures ("Last Days Here", "Art Of The Steal", "Rock School"), examines the impact that music and particularly heavy metal music has made on people around the globe as they live in a 21st century world full of economic uncertainty, political unrest, social injustice, and under a constant fear of war and violence. Filming has taken place to date in Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, India, and Israel. Filming in the United States will take place over the summer months. Embedded in the trailer is the video for the band's second single from the "Resolution" CD, "Desolation". The clip was shot at shows in South America and Mexico and is the follow-up to the animated video for the track "Ghost Walking".

LAMB OF GOD, currently on tour in Europe, begins the North American tour for "Resolution" on August 1 in Seattle, Washinigton along with co-headliners DETHKLOK and special guest GOJIRA.

Hal Leonard has released the official, note-for-note matching guitar tab book for "Resolution", the latest album from LAMB OF GOD. It is now available for purchase from MusicDispatch.com.

"Resolution" sold around 52,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 3 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "Wrath", opened with around 68,000 units back in March 2009 to enter the chart at No. 2. This figure was roughly in line with the first-week tally registered by 2006's "Sacrament", which shifted around 63,000 units to debut at No. 8. It also represented almost double the amount of records sold by its predecessor, "Ashes Of The Wake", which premiered with 35,000 copies in September 2004.

"Resolution" was released in the U.S. via Epic and internationally through Roadrunner Records. The CD was recorded at various studios in Virginia and New York with producer Josh Wilbur, who worked on the band's last effort, 2009's "Wrath".
