Brass Neck says:
When God created France he was more than generous, giving them the sun-drenched beaches along the Med, the towering skiing paradises in the Alps and the fantastic vineyards throughout the country. He pondered the disparity in natural wealth between the newly-created France and its neighbours and saw that it was unfair. 'I must do something to redress the balance and compensate for all these beauties and riches,' he thought, 'but what, what?' And then it hit him, it was so obvious how he could sully and tarnish the excessive beauty he had bestowed; he created the French!

Johnny Bee says:
Good old Serge. In Jamaica in 1978 he recorded "Aux Armes et cetera", a reggae version of the French national anthem "La Marseillaise", with Robbie Shakespeare, Sly Dunbar, and Rita Marley. This song earned him death threats from right-wing veterans of the Algerian War of Independence who were opposed to certain lyrics. Bob Marley was also, allegedly, furious when he discovered that Gainsbourg had made his wife Rita sing erotic lyrics.

Nugent Dirt says:
I can forgive them their stinking cheeses, over rated wines and haut cuisine, poncey art house cinema, celebrity philosophers, theatrical national footie team, unreliable motors, weird cr@ppers, smelly p*ssoirs, irksome children etc for simply spawning the extremely lovely Juliette Binoche. Oh and I grant they've some pretty good electronic music dudes... Air, Daft Punk, Laurent Garnier and I've even a soft spot for David Guetta.

Tostaky-Noir Desir.
A great slice of rock from some frogs.
I live and work with the french out here and admire them in a strange kind of way;they do exactly what they like and don't give a f k. They have a special facial expression for people who say "But what if...?" "You can't do that..." etc

Nuge, my respect for you has grown immensely! Juliette Binoche is phenomenal. Love her in Chocolat (the film is great too)...stunning!

Agree about the 'electonic geek dudes done good' David Guetta et al are indeed way talented.
