1. There seem to be 3 types of mp3 preview interface now: the traditional one (full controls, volume, etc.); the pop-up one with the smaller screen; a new one which in some cases is all that is available.
2. The third kind often seems to be imposed on mp3 (is this some weird Cloud thing..??) with NO VOLUME CONTROL. It also 9/10 times fails to launch until after at least 2-3 attempts. Something wrong here.
3. Amazon now frequently fails to display mp3 recommendations in the home screen (instead DIY and office stationery, home and kitchen (??!).

In addition, the mp3 preview time on Amazon is still often laughably short (sometimes c. 5 seconds!) vs. up to a 1.5 mins on iTunes, and tracks typically cost 10p more than on iTunes. Until this is corrected, it makes sense to use the (thankfully!) restored mp3 basket facility once again, but still buy all mp3 tracks on iTunes, saving £1 for every 10 tracks.
The "ownership" issue of the music purchased in this way is still unresolved of course (Amazon & iTunes and others).
FLAC may also be the way forward. No major seller seems to be addressing this. CD rot lingers in the background for all of us. Sic transit gloria...

The mp3 basket is also
1. irritatingly only accessible after pretending to do an mp3 category search, it would have been nice to be able to just select it as one can the 'normal' basket.
2. Also it is not possible to preview tracks in the mp3 basket, other than by clicking on them one by one and going to their individual location (and then back again) and then doing it all again, etc. each time.
3. mp3 recommendations also no longer appear. Maybe this is an inactivity response algorithm - but sadly if so it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
