Hi

Just to say that in promoting my own novel Take No More - the Murder Mystery Thriller, I've met some wonderful people and I want to thank them all for their interest and help. And I hope that I've been able to be of some help to them in return.

Here's one of the reviews of the book:

'This is a wonderful novel from a new author and I hope it will be the first of many. The plot moves fast and often surprisingly. There is much to admire about Seb Kirby's knowledge of the art world and there's plotting and deceit in the criminal underworld to contend with too. Seb is a master at writing emotion without overdoing it. He can make you feel the full jolt under the heart from bereavement, the lack of purpose felt by those who experience it, but he is never soppy about it. He can also express utter joy in a way many authors would love to be able to do.

I really enjoyed this book. It's a very satisfying read from an intelligent and talented author. More, please.'

Best wishes

Seb

Hello there to all readers of mystery/suspense/thrillers.

I've included all three genre here as sometimes it is so difficult to separate them. Anyway I am an author of all three (and action/adventure/rite of passage/romance!) and if some readers don't know me then here's your chance. I have an author page on here, link is, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Faith-Mortimer/e/B002EQ8HH6/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_pop_1 with more info about me and my writing career and books.

I won't go into great detail about my books as I'd prefer readers to sample for themselves on each item, suffice to say I have included each book's link. Thank you for taking the time to read this and take a look at what I have written. There are some marvellous reviews on both Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com. I have to say I like the new addition Amazon has made where you can now see all reviews from both Amazon sites.

The Assassins' Village Also in paperback

Children of the Plantation Also in paperback

Echoes of Life and Love - A Collection of Short Mysteries

The Bamboo Mirror

The Crossing Also in paperback

And at the end of this month or early January I will be publishing my latest mystery thriller, The Surgeon's blade, which my beta readers tell me is ''a corker' and possible the best so far!' Watch this space!

My books are published by a small publisher and I really like interaction between my readers and myself, so feel free to contact me with any queries about writing in general, my books or indeed any other authors that they wish to share. As authors, interaction and feedback is paramount to us, so please let us know!

Enjoy books on here, whoever and whatever you read - we all share a common love!

That's very kind. I have some nice photos on the background to Take No More that I took in Italy. Perhaps they could be used?

Yes, that sort of thing would be perfect, Seb. You need to cut your blurb down to 50-60 words and find some music for background. I use a free site, danosongs.com a lot (just have to credit him). Or you can buy rights to a music clip at Pond5.com for as little as $2.

Split personality. TOK1 is still in the Kindle forum - as long as that lasts!

I'll get working on that. Thanks for the help!

The Depths of Deception (15 five-star reviews)

"One Hell of a Read." "Hauntingly beautiful." "Well written, brilliantly executed."

"Exceptional ALMOST Captures How Good this book is!"

America has disappeared some years ago. A neo-fascist Party has come to power in the UK. China is on the rise. A submarine hurtles through the cold dark waters of the Atlantic en route to an unknown destination. Only the ship's doctor knows its true mission, but he is not who he appears to be.

A sweeping tale moving from the violent heart of Apartheid South Africa, to the ruins of the United Kingdom, and down to the edge of the world in the frozen Antarctic landscape, The Depths of Deception is a tale of revenge, served as a shatteringly cold dish.

"An adventure tale on the order of LeCarre's The Spy Who Came in from the Cold..."

"...one of the most remarkable books I've ever had the pleasure of reading"

Andre / William

I'm guessing: 'blood, sweat and perspiration', but I'm usually wrong about these things.

So here's a thing. If you had to choose just one review for your book. which one would you choose?

For my Take No More, I was particularly pleased with this from 'Ignite':

'This is a wonderful novel from a new author and I hope it will be the first of many. The plot moves fast and often surprisingly. There is much to admire about Seb Kirby's knowledge of the art world and there's plotting and deceit in the criminal underworld to contend with too. Ian Fraser says:
my current favorite review - for The Depths of Deception is one by mountainmama...

Hauntingly Beautiful

'Set in some future time after an apocalyptic event has wiped America off the map and thrown the rest of the world into chaos, Depths of Deception leads you through the journey of an assassin who leaves his profession in order to lead a "normal" life, only to find his profession is not willing to let him go.

Mr. Fraser has a remarkable ability to craft vividly believable scenes and dialog, leading the reader back and forth through various times and settings as the main character experiences the whole gamut of human emotions.

Beautifully written, this story will draw you in and not let you go. A compelling and thought-provoking story of one man's quest for answers and closure in a world gone mad. I highly recommend this book. Superb job, Mr. Fraser!'

Seb:
My favorite review for Murder On The Danube (Robbie Cutler Diplomatic Mysteries) came from a teenager whose father had actually been a freedom fightefr on the streets of Budapest during the Hungarian Revolution, the backdrop for my book. This young fellow, never interested in the old country, read my book and then told his father, "Dad- Now I know what you and the others who didn't survive went through." There is no better review than that, I think.

Flies for the Mayans (a novella) Four 5-star reviews.

"...excellent work, well written, brilliantly envisioned and creatively thought through."

"It is not a book you finish and forget...If you are easily offended by religious satire, this book may not be for you. But if you enjoy this kind of satire, you are in for a ride."

***God's having a bad day. Once upon a time, He made the mistake of dividing Heaven into realms and provinces, overseen by deities jostling for territory and profits. Now everything is sliding out of control. The one-time Creator of the Universe is estranged from his son, riddled with guilt, and fighting battles on multiple fronts. His few remaining rules are being bypassed, His angels are turning up dead.

Unless He can find out who is gunning for Him, the unthinkable might occur.

'Flies for the Mayans' is a violent dark comedy of post-Biblical proportions. Get ready for a roller-coaster ride into unexpected territory.
