In process of buying Samsung ultra book does any one know if they provide the discs for recovery and the operating system etc?
I am in France so having a back up of the OS in English is a great help

Quite often you will be prompted to create your recovery disc(s) as soon as you start it up. I have had this with my last laptop (a Dell) and the one before (an HP).

Samsung provide disks with their netbooks which don't have an optical drive! They do not supply disks for machines that have optical drives. You have to burn your own. Alternatively get an external hard drive and make a recovery partition. This is much quicker. If you get a large enough drive you can also backup your files to it as well.

Samsung don't provide system recovery disc's. the recovery system is preloaded on the notebook. The disc provided is a windows recovery disc and should not be used to recover the system, this will format the drive and you will lose all of your software and drivers, the drivers can be found on the Samsung website, but the OEM software is not recoverable.

To recover the system, reboot tap F4, and follow the prompts, basic or complete recovery. Basic for driver issues and complete to bring it back to factory settings, back up data you don't want to lose.
