I've got one of the early Kindles and enjoy using it. However the one thing I really miss from having a shelf full of books is when I've just finished a book and am deciding what to read next.

I've downloaded quite a few books on impulse, then when I look down the list of titles/authors, I can't remember what they are or what they're about, so don't know what books will suit my present mood.

Has anyone got any tips /ideas on how to get over this? I've thought about having just a load of post-it notes inside the cover with the titles and brief descriptions on so I can do my browsing that way, but it seems very low-tech!

You could create Collections for each type of book but it would have been easier to do that at the start. If you have a lot of books that's going to be difficult now.

Personally, as my mood changes frequently I often pick the next book at random, given that I purchased it believing I'd enjoy reading it.

Otherwise, I have a reading list of around 30 books (I read between 2 and 5 per week) and simply work my way through that.

I would suggest you make collections as someone else has said. If you click on the title, the screen has several options - add to collection etc. there is Book description, just go to that and 'click' again and the screen will show the store page so you can read through the description. If you have downloaded lots of books, I would suggest you make a collection for the book you've just finished and add books to collections as you read them. Hope this makes sense to you.

I have collections in the following
next to read
free books
don't want to read
current reading

But because I have so many books, this year I have my goodreads challenge as a backlist monthly clearout.
So at the end of the month, I go through my Amazon orders for the next month and all the books I have bought from previous years for that month go into my, eg "April challenge" folder. So my tbr list is cut to 1/12. I have about 3 pages to choose from rather than 40 pages. I will either read a book, or decide I'm not going to read it and put it into my not read collection. Last month I binned 4 books and read 20 of them.
Obviously if I buy one I really want to read straight away, I will read it. But I've enjoyed trying to clear out my challenge collection.

Mind you, I just looked at my goodreads library and sorted into recent books and had to go check that it was actually my library as I didn't recognise any of the first dozen or so titles.
