K Brown says:
If both Kindles are signed up to the same account the apps downloaded on one kindle will be available in the cloud on the other - you just need to look in the cloud page in apps and click on the app to download it to the 2nd kindle. Otherwise look in the pull down menu and there is a sync button - press that wait a few minutes and it should appear in the cloud page.

Any idea if I can upgrade my kindle for the new kindle fire?

In reply to an earlier post on 5 Jan 2013 15:01:47 GMT
Damaskcat says:
Amazon don't do trade ins. In any case it's not really an upgrade as a Fire is in an e-ink e-reader - it's more like a tablet.

Thrilled with my shiny new Kindle Fire HD BUT I have a problem - how can I get rid of books and apps so they really actually go? The books are still there, and I have yet to see how I can get rid of the too many games I downloaded in excitement, used to having to pay very much more for them to play on my there no way to delete apps?

Denis Powell says:
Simply long touch any app/book/movie and one of the options will be "Remove from Device". Tap that and it's only in the Cloud.

If you want to contact Customer Services click on Help at the top of this page, then the Contact Us button, give them your telephone number and they'll telephone you.

I'm able to play videos in many different file formats on mine, what problems are you having?

Thanks for that Linda.. I'm going almost all around these Threads informing people about this Wonderful book that Steve Webster has written. But like I'm always pointing out I don't know anything about the Author, am just mentioning to everyone because its Free at the moment and it normally costs over £8

I can't really comment myself personally regarding this book because I haven't a A Big Thanks Linda

In reply to an earlier post on 11 Jan 2013 23:42:10 GMT
I've got no idea.,but at least we are getting it Free, rather than £8 only to find its unsuitable....even though I think the UK Citizens will still find it informative

It tells you about Calibre, and that's something even I will find useful. I don't understand Calibre, even thou Alot of you have tried explaining it to me.

Edit: Steve got this published 2012, so obviously it's still quite hopefully we will all find something useful in it.
But like I said, it's Free so why wori?

I am going to buy a Kindle Fire but it is asking if I want to buy with or without special offers. without is £10 more, what does this mean?

In reply to an earlier post on 18 Jan 2013 16:18:55 GMT
Denis Powell says:
The "With Special Offers" Fire has promotions as the "sleep" screens instead of screensavers. They're usually book offers but can be for other things too. They only appear on the Sleep Screen and not when you're actually using the device.

Today's are, for me, a 30 Day Free Trial for LoveFilm, The Kindle Daily Deal, Kindle Extended Warranty, The Soundtrack of the new film Les Miserables, two Kindle books and the music album, Lost Sirens for £3.99. In recent weeks theres' been one for a Ford Motor Car, Mayonaise, and an Electric Toothbrush.

They're very easy to ignore and if you decide they annoy you you can ask Amazon to remove them although they are entitled to ask for a payment of £10 which is the difference in price between the Fire with Special Offers and the one without.

Personally I can easily ignore them so I didn't see the point in spending the extra £10.

neil says:
From bitter experience, the Kindle Fire is riddled with annoying items that cannot be disabled or removed. Further web browsing and game playing is limited, the email app is also insecure. Help from Amazon is not easy to get and failed attempts are often repeated. Think very carefully before purchasing this product.
