You have to ring amazon and pay ten pounds to stop the adverts, that is why the firehd cheap as the adverts subsidise the cost for amazon.

I don't mind the adverts my problem is I can't play the programme. Just can hear the sound. But I can hear and see the adverts.

I have just had a result in trying to get filmon tv streaming to work on my kindle fire vs. A s you may or may not know my problem has Been that BBC and its player haven't worked for me although I have my Kindle fire registered to the uk I spend most of my time in France. Now I have filmon working which is great for watching UK tv while in France. To get it I changed my country settings for my kindle to France, then while in France I went on the French Amazon app store and found family TV app which was free and works to stream UK tv to the kindle fire result. I changed my country settings back to UK and the streaming still works. I have also downloaded tunein app which streams world-wide radio so I can now get BBC radio streamed visa French UP address.

Denis Powell says:
You need the .apk file from somewhere. The link in an earlier post on this thread no longer works but I'm sure if you Google for ITV Player apk you'll find plenty of places to download it from. How safe any of them are is another matter. If you know someone with a Tablet or Phone that has access to the Google Play store they could download the apk and forward it to you.

the app for itvplayer in Google Play store isn't much good,I couldn't get it to work on my tablet and when I looked at the reviews of it,other people were having the same problem.I did get the STV app to work but only after I put in my daughter's Scottish postcode!

Denis Powell says:
I downloaded my .apk from the link in the digitalspy forum but, as I said, that's been closed - probably because there was too much traffic. If someone were prepared to upload their working copy to something like Dropbox then that would be very useful, but I'm not doing it.

Does your Tablet have Adobe AIR - that's what the ITV Player is based on, not Flash.

I know there have been a number of issues with Versus tablets, particularly with Kindle for Android.

I used the same ITV Player apk for my Fire HD and a friend's Nexus (which also wouldn't load ITV Player from the Google Play Store).

CallmeAng says:
Personally,Denis,I find my tablet ok in general.I know the kindle app didn't work and it can be a bit slow to start sometimes but apart from that,it's fine. After all, nothing's perfect in this life,is it :)

In reply to an earlier post on 5 May 2013 12:31:35 BDT
Denis Powell says:
No, nothing is perfect Ang, and that's certainly true for Tablets and me ;-).

I'm sure an iPad is a great device but it didn't suit me when I looked at one. I like the Nexus 7 a great deal but I still prefer the Fire HD with all it's limitations.

I wish I could help more with ITV Player but I'm reluctant to put my apk into dropbox and advertise it here as I'm sure there would be other posters saying they couldn't get it to work and I simply don't have time for that.

Although I have it on my Fire it's an app I only use very rarely. I'm not a great TV fan which is one of the reasons I don't subscribe to SKY. I get more than I have time to watch using FreeSat.

CallmeAng says:
You help so many people on here that you certainly shouldn't feel bad about not helping with the ITV player app.I have the STV app on my tablet but like yourself,I don't use it much.We used to have Sky but when George started complaining about the constant repeats,I pointed out to him that at least if we changed to Freeview, the repeats wouldn't cost us anything :)

In reply to an earlier post on 5 May 2013 19:04:25 BDT
Denis Powell says:
I live in a poor Freeview reception area so FreeSat is a much more useful service for me.

How do u watch it?

In reply to an earlier post on 17 Nov 2013 19:59:27 GMT
Denis Powell says:
Robster, you need to use the "reply to this post" option if you're asking someone a question otherwise we may not have any idea what you're asking about.

I'm assuming you want to view ITV Player. As it's not available in the Amazon App Store you'll need to obtain the .apk file from somewhere. If you know someone who has an Android tablet with access to Google Play, they could email the .apk to you. It will install on a Fire HD and Fire HDX with no problem.

Think it's terrible that it's so long winded to try and try it has been for me to get itv player. I have installed es file explorer with no problems but can't download dolphin HD - please help!!!!!

In reply to an earlier post on 27 Nov 2013 22:11:51 GMT
Denis Powell says:
You don't need Dolphin to install ITV Player. You need to get the .apk file from somewhere. If you have a friend with the app on their Android tablet perhaps they could email it to you. You then open the email on your Fire, tap the attachment and it will install on your Fire provided you have it set to "allow the installation of apps from unknown sources".

In reply to an earlier post on 28 Nov 2013 09:41:52 GMT
I'll check to see if anyone I know has .apk. Many thanks Denis reakky appreciate your help.

I just bought a kindle fire hdx 7" as Christmas present for my wife and was looking to load an app. for ITV etc. Found that MyPlayerPro on Amazon apps. seems good value for £2. Streaming is very quick, no lag as such, the e.p.g. takes a bit of getting used to but then don't most of them to start with. Just realised i am probably writing this reply in her new account that I have just set up, sorry to confuse . I have also had to purchase a miracast dongle as the tv she will be using for streaming kindle miracast feature does not support it. I first tried EZCast but it does not support Kindle Fire HDX, I have now ordered a Netgear PTV3000 which is licenced to support Kindle Fire HDX Miracast, bye the way shop around as prices seem to go for anything around £78-£58. I purchased mine from Amazon USA for $55 and works out about £11 cheaper even with all the import taxes and p&p.
