I have done all that and seem to have installed flash but when I try to use it it comes up with a blue box on a grey background with question marks on the side. The dolphin browser is working. Any suggestions?

Denis Powell says:
What do you mean by "use it"?

You only need to use Dolphin. You don't run the Flash app.

When I try to watch something through the dolphin browser eg the itv play or 5 on demand the clip I am trying to watch has a small green arrow in it then that becomes the little blue box with the question marks on the side. It is as if the flash player is 'locked' if that makes sense.

I don't have ITV iPlayer or Demand 5 on my Fire so I can't help with that. I believe you have to sideload the apk files and I'm not interested enough to bother.

Sorry to be so technically illiterate but what are apk files?

In reply to an earlier post on 18 Nov 2012, 22:34:29 GMT
Denis Powell says:
They're the files you need to install an app.

Denis Powell - I have installed all the things you said, thanks for that. However, I am trying to instal itv player and I keep getting the comment that I have to click the white shopping bag or that there are no devices. What does all that mean? I am such a technophob!

Denis Powell says:
I don't think you can install ITV iPlayer other than through the Google Play store which isn't possible on the Fire. That may well change in the near future but at the moment it's only BBC iPlayer that can be downloaded directly.

Dorothy, if you give a link to the website I'll see if I can solve the problem.

Dorothy, that site barely works on my Windows 7 laptop in Internet Explorer. It's very slightly better using Google Chrome. FireFox requires plug-ins that I can't be bothered with.

On my Fire HD, using the Dolphin Browser, the ads ran perfectly, and I'm looking at the Wide Angle video now (Tree blowing about in the wind quite a bit) but when it first started the video stalled and I had to stop it (using the Stop button) and then tap the play button again. Just changed to the Close Up window and see an empty nest (lot of wind noise.) The only thing I can't see is the Chat window. Zoomed to fill the screen and the picture quality is quite good quality.

yes, the cams are hard to start , its a cam thing not a computer prob we always have to hit the stop start /live stream button a few times to get it going . i dont mind not having the chat so long as i can view the nest when im away from my laptop on holidays. dont know why its not opening up for me. all i get is the page with a blue plug thing on screen where the cam window should be. i view it on chrome and firefox on my laptop. should i try viewing it on those on my kindle and not through dolphin ?

In reply to an earlier post on 19 Nov 2012, 17:51:55 GMT
when i try to open it on dolphin it says this version is not available on my current browser.when i try to open it with dolphin.

Dorothy, I'm at a loss to help. All I can say is that I installed Dolphin and Flash from the goodereader appstore and it works. I haven't done anything special at all.

I installed Google Chrome on my Fire but that wouldn't play the eagle videos so I don't think there's much point in you trying that.

i was wondering if i should download an older version of flash as they say the latest one wont work on fire hd ? but its a mystery and i dont know what this blue lego cube with the question mark is about as i cant open it . im stumped too. thanks for all your help .

In reply to an earlier post on 21 Nov 2012, 20:07:58 GMT
Thats the same for me Dorothy, i keep getting that cube when trying to watch somthing

Posted on 21 Nov 2012, 20:32:44 GMT
i have now downloaded older version of flash and downloaded dolphin browser and deleted dolphin hd, but it still wont load and i have the blue cube, there is no way to open the cube or any thing to say what it is or why its there. real bummer i can tell you but on the bright side i can watch one live nest cam so i suppose thats all i can do for now. i might take it along to waterstones or pc world and see if they can help me. Dennis = thanks for trying to help me with it.

Dennis thanks for your help with this. Just got Kindle Fire HD yesterday and am still finding my feet. Followed your instructions and have now got dolphin and flash player. I didn't even know you got a drop down screen on the home page until I came on here lol

I'm still learning too. I've found that it does far more than I expected it to. The HD screen is amazing. I've only had to clean it once since I've had it.

In reply to an earlier post on 22 Nov 2012, 15:25:18 GMT
