Yes , but some just ignore it Stitch , it would be better , if Amazon backed it up with a bit of action .

Suze says:
Stitch, it hasn't been too bad on here recently. A couple of months ago it was like the start of WW3, but things settled down again.

BRAVO Stitchingirl:-) I agree with you, some of the recent posts have been very rude to say the least. So unnecessary :-)x

I have always found it a good strategy to completely avoid all the nastiness and nonsense, as well as the down voting obsession, i deal with the public all day and come on here for a bit of light entertainment - not even more rude people.
Some people need to consider that new posters may be entering a forum for the first time, may be grappling with new technology for the first time. It may open up their lives and enrich it, and this may be halted simply by someone being rude - possibly scaring them off.
If you don't like a thread - avoid it i say. Or make an effort to start one that will contribute to and improve the forum in general.

:o)

I totally agree Willie - I work with volunteers who I think do a wonderful job because they believe in what they are doing. However, they constantly moan about the organisation I work for and think they they can talk to me however they like because they aren't paid. I'm often shouted had, criticised and sworn at because they don't like what I say. It costs nothing to be respectful.

Lovely to read some positive comments and sensible attitudes. I still think the old 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all' is very appropriate on forums. I have been horrified at the attitudes of some recently, and would like to see Amazon not just deleting, but leaving a 'we deleted a post because the content was inappropriate. Please remember the code of the forums' style message. It would serve as a reminder to others then too. It has been jolly unpleasant, and I use the forums as a safe haven. They haven't felt very safe lately.

I'm proud to say I only abuse seasoned dinner party guests: I leave the newbies alone.
My racial abuse only extends to Jocks and Amazon (tellingly) don't seem to mind that
I don't think I'm sexist: Im obnoxious to men and women, equally

BeeJayTee says:
I get quite dismayed when I see newbies say they won't come back because of the rude responses of a few.
The same few then complain about O/T posts which proliferate because there are only so many kindle topics to discuss without them being repeated by newcomers.

We had a new person on either yesterday or the day before and she said she wouldn't be back because of the reception she got. Shame really, new people joining the forum is good.

Tuh! When have I ever been rude to anyone on the forum? (Tempted many times, but so far, wearing mittens has stopped me from typing something I later regret ...)

In reply to an earlier post on 12 Jun 2012 21:20:07 BDT
I took issue with the sarcastic bullies on that thread. Didnt get much support tho. :-(
