Karen- I am glad it all went ok for you in the end! :0).
All my books are gone now too with the very last copy given by my son to his delighted school teacher at home time!.
Like you say it will be nice to hear any feedback when people have read the book.
I wonder how everyone else is getting on?

I managed to give away all of mine, but it wasn't as I expected it to be - like you, hardly anybody asked me more than 'is it good?' They were just happy to get a free book - some were delighted, others weren't really sure but it was free so why not!

I hope they will give it a go and read it. I am not sure if I enjoyed the experience yet though, I was shaking like a leaf for most of the hour (and frozen sitting in the foyer!) but once I have had time to reflect, and see if anybody did enjoy the book then I can decide.

Karen-You will be fine, most people are just happy to be given something for free! :0).
I didn't really have to explain why I liked my book to anyone I just said....
"Would you like to accept a FREE book as It's World Book Night tonight and I am a giver?", some people asked me if I had read it but that was it!.
I have just come back from my lunch shift and managed to give another 10 out to colleagues and a couple of strangers so I only have three left which I have promised to a Mum at the end of school who is setting up a little Book club for the parents.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this experience and will apply next year for sure!.

I'm absolutely bricking it! I have given out a couple already, but I will be down in the foyer of my office building at lunch today to give out the rest, and I sent an email round on Friday to alert everyone to it, but my palms were sweating as I pressed send! I am rubbish around strangers and trying to explain why I loved this book is going to have me totally tongue tied! A few people have expressed interest as they enjoyed the film of the Time Traveler's Wife so it might hook a few in with their curiosity and I can happily say that the book is way better than the film (which I liked more than I thought I would!)

But to make matters worse, there is a Book People book sale in the canteen today!! I sought permission from the building manager but still, a bit of competition for both of us! At least mine are free!

How is it all going with you?
I handed out half of my books this morning at the School gates and my son loved giving them out. The other half I am giving out this afternoon to colleagues and random strangers!.
The response has been lovely so far! many people stopped to talk to me about books or admitted they did not read but promised to read the book we gave!. :0)

I know, I'm glad it's 25 this year!

Yes I've been chosen - Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella.
I did it last year and it was sooo stressful. Badly organised (which they seem to have sorted out) and 48 books was a lot more to give away than you first thought! x

Yes me, I got my e-mail today!:0)
I'm giving away 'The Book Thief'-Markus Zusak.
I have also not done it before but I'm looking forward to hopefully encouraging reading with the gift of this fab book!.

I just found out that I have been picked as a book giver this year! I'm going to be giving away The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. I'm really excited, but a bit nervous too as I have never done anything like this before. It is one of my favourite books so I want to do it justice.

Has anyone else been picked?
