Jack Ketchum- The Girl Next Door, Offspring
Bentely Little- The Assocation, The House
Richard Laymon- The woods are dark, Endless night, Bite, The stake, Flesh, Blood Games, The cellar, Funland
All three- Triage

That is the current list of books that have caught my eye, the only real problem is I dont know which of them to buy now and which to buy later, any suggestions?

I'd vote for Ketchum's The Girl Next Door and anything by Laymon, especially Endless Night. Other Ketchum work I've been rather unimpressed with, but The Girl Next Door is truly chilling.

And Laymon rules!

Personally I would say Laymon. Some are better than others, but I can't recall ever reading a dud written by him, so he is a safe bet. : )

I would say of those, go with Laymon, however, avoid his 'The Lake' like the plague. It's the biggest pile of rubbish that has his name on it.
The Beast House trilogy by him is a good read, I really enjoyed Funland too, and Body Rides. Endless Night and The woods are dark were among my favourites, but I think Quake tops his list for me, must've read it 4 or 5 times and enjoyed it each one.

You could also take a look at J. A. Konrath. I've downloaded several of his books from amazon recently and I think he falls into the category you're looking for. I'm enjoying his books a lot, I'd put him on a par with Ketchum and Laymon.

Do not use these discussion forums to promote your own book. It is both unwelcome and against Amazon rules. From the "Important Announcement from Amazon":

"Starting on December 15, 2011, all "shameless self-promotion" activity will be limited to the `Meet Our Authors' community."

Put your spam in the "Meet Our Authors" forum. That's what it's for.

"Check these babys..." - I think that gives us an idea of the standard of writing we can expect with these books (assuming anyone would be so desperate as to read one!)

There has been so much going on lately that simply reading a few posts should be enough warning, but they either don't read any or more likely just don't care.
