Yodel are the worst courier service ever. Once again they have lied saying that they have attempted delivery 3 times and left a calling card, as I have just had a hernia operation I have been stuck at home for 2 weeks and have been sat in the living room waiting for these deliveries. Yodel customer services are a complete joke and appear to have no training what so ever in customer satisfaction. All they seem to do is arrange another delivery that they do not meet or lie about meeting. I have been waiting for 3 days for a woody doll that I have ordered for my daughter and am sooooo frustrated that you seem to completely miss that I have paid extra for you to deliver my item. This is the third time in which yodel have completely messed up a simple delivery, the last time your delivery driver could not be bothered to carry some heavy items from his van to my door even though I paid 90 quid for a two person delivery, " just ask and I'm sure people will help you if you can't manage a bit of lifting" yodel drivers all seem to be a bunch of lazy brain dead slackers who mimic the attributes of an unprofessional incompetent company intent on ripping off the hard working British public who only ask that they receive the service that they have paid for. AMAZON SORT THIS OUT and use a more reliable service. E.g Royal Mail, DHL

This happened to me at christmas and again for my girlfriends bday. Yodel said they tried ti deluver but left no callung card and dont answer their phone. Soooo frustrating. I paid extra for next day delivery yet snail mail items arrived quicker at no cost. They disgust me and have ruined two special occasions. I love amazon but hate yodel and may have to take my custom elsewhere. I miss royal mail and would happily pay for the service which is actually a working functional contributing service.

Had major issues with Yodel back in Dec 2011, I am surprised they are still in business. I always ask businesses who they use for delivery, if its Yodel I ask to use someone different. Yodel had said they had been to my house to deliver my Iphone, when they hadn't, no calling cards, and the warehouse a complete joke. In the end the parcel was 'lost' and a new parcel had to be dispatched from O2. O2 Customer Service also didn't cover themselves in glory, but we got there in the end. Probably shortened my life by 8 months getting cross with both companies. Probably not worth it and will avoid getting in such a state next time.

Yes, yodel are bloody awful, but why start a new thread when there are many more yodel threads in the deals forum. If members keep adding to the current 1000+ threads then maybe amazon will listen. Just a thought.

Amazon, I am a Prime member and pay for the privilege of next day delivery. When my order comes via DPD it is always delivered on the day promised. Unfortunately, however, you use Yodel for some deliveries, and to be honest I cringe when the email comes through saying the item will be delivered by The HDNL. I have taken days off work, have had imaginary delivery drivers leaving imaginary calling cards, blatantly lying that no person is in a building that employs 24 staff with a reception constantly manned. I have never had a delivery from them that has arrived on time, and in my ongoing experience with Yodel chat today, they actually blamed you Amazon for misaddressing my parcel. It ended up in Chelmsford, Essex, instead of Chichester, West Sussex, where it has laid for the last 2 days. They have told me I won't get the parcel until next week. If you charge me for Prime delivery it is not just the painfully poor so called delivery company Yodel that should be held to account but also yourselves because I pay you for a premium delivery service. I will not renewing my Prime subscription, items are delivered quicker from private sellers on Ebay. For goodness sake ditch this incompetent company.

Yodel issues! Costs to call, on hold for ages, no options online or through automated service to put in preference of where parcel should go, some staff rude, card put through neighbours door, not mine. Depot MILES away. Frustrated customer who still has not received package! Informed it will go back to sender if not collected.

I agree, Yodel is absolutely useless!! They should close that business down!!! I had problems with them back in Christmas 2010, the items NEVER arrived. Yodel said they delivered them to our house but they didn't. We never got our parcel. The company refunded us as the items were sold out.

Now again I have ordered some beautiful little trees, they should have arrived yesterday or today, and in the tracking system it states they are back at the service centre, saying there is a problem with the address. These are little trees poor little things have probably died as been with Yodel since the 8th of May! I have contacted seller and she said they will try to sort it out. I am SO angry! I just do not understand why Yodel is still doing deliveries as CLEARLY they are not able to deliver things!

Yodel were scheduled to pick up a pair of jeans from my house to return to the Very catalogue, which I'd left in my shedas per the instructions on the collection not. They didn't show up.

A couple of days later I had a cake mixer (stand mixer) delivered by Hermes which was also left in the shed as I was at work. Without telling me, the Yodel driver decided they were coming to collect my jeans on this same day and took away my Stand Mixer instead; even though it was clearly addressed to me, unlike the jeans, sat in the same shed, in a birght pink parcel which had a Very Catalogue returns label on them. When I got home from work I had two notes on my mat - 1) Parcel Delivered by Hermes, 2)Parcel Collected by Yodel.

I rang Yodel the very next day to resolve the issue. They told me I needed to talk to Very, so I called them. They told me I needed to wait 14 days as the parcel would be automatically returned as this happens frequently and they have a process. I waited the 14 days, and guess what...no parcel was returned. So, I called Very again, they told me they had the parcel at their sorting centre (found by a new tracking number - none of yodels tracking numbers worked on their own site!) and I was transfered to the depot. I was then told that the depot was too big for me to expect them to find the parcel and that they could no longer help me, instead I should contact Yodel again, which I did. They then raised a complaint and said they would interviewed the driver. Nothing happened, or if it did I was not made aware of it.

I continued to chase them repeatedly and was told that as soon as progress was made I would hear about it. Only 6 weeks after the incident did I finally get a resolution: an offer to reimburse me the cost of the item. I wasn't happy with this though as the purchase had been made on a special offer which had since expired, meaning the reimbursement would not be sufficient to replace the item they'd taken. Instead I asked the item simply be replaced. Yodel refused and told me that the reimbursement they were making was out of goodwill! I accepted their offer as I needed to resolve this issue and had frankly run out of steam.

To summarise, Yodel took a parcel from my property that I did not ask them to. After 6 weeks of me chasing the situation they then refused to replace the item and told me that my reimubrsement was a Goodwill gesture - a gesture that was not good enough to replace the item that had been lost because of their incompetence.

I will not be using them again for anything, would advise others not to and would also like people to continue spreading the word about just how crap they are.

Why does Amazon insist on using Yodel ? Last time Yodel delivered to me they threw a PC monitor over a 6foot high gate. This time when looking at their tracking they said my parcel was sent out for delivery at 5pm fo rdelivery. I changed all my arangements that night to make sure I was in because they say they deliver up to 7pm. looking this morning on their tracking they recon they tried to deliver at 6:33pm & left a card, what a pile of sh** we were in all night & no card was left. Ringing their customer (dont care) I was left listening to music for 30mins before being told it was out for delivery today (some time up to 7pm) so I can't even go to the depot to collect. It's a shame when Amazon is such good service being brought down by using such a cr*p delivery service.

I am having the same problems. The main problem is that when I, living in the UK, order something from amazon.com that isn't available from amazon uk, they send it via DHL Global Mail. I had no trouble when DHL used to deliver my items personally, but of late, DHL only deliver the items as far as the nearest Yodel depot and Yodel are contracted to deliver it to me from there. The drivers seem totally incompetent and can't be bothered to actually deliver the package, so they say that they tried to deliver it and couldn't get an answer, ect. This happened yesterday with an expensive DVD I'd bought from amazon.com. After waiting in all day, I looked on the Yodel tracking facility and the lying bastard of a driver said that he had tried to deliver it at 9:50 a.m. but couldn't gain access. He left no card because, of course, he never actually came. After a lot of trouble, I managed to speak to a person at Yodel Customer Services and she apologised for this and contacted the Stoke Service Depot in City Road, Stoke-on-Trent, and informed me that the package would be delivered today by 10 a.m. But, you've guessed it, no package has arrived. No doubt when I go on the tracking facility later on, it will say he tried to deliver the package at 9:15 a.m. but couldn't get an answer. Delivery drivers such as this should be sacked on the spot. They don't give a toss! As an amazon customer for the past 13 years, I will no longer buy my DVD's off amazon.com. At least amazon uk send them via Royal Mail and they are far more reliable than Yodel. I've a good mind to write to the local Sentinel newspaper about this. Another annoying thing is that it is impossible to get in touch with Yodel Stoke Service Centre as their phone number listed on the Internet and in the phone book doesn't exist. I shall talk to my credit card company and tell them I am refusing to pay for two items (there's another DVD on its way from amazon.com that almost certainly won't arrive), because they were never delivered to me by Yodel, no matter what their lying drivers say to the contrary. The cost of the two DVDs, with postage and customs duty has been over £50. It's just not on.

I called about a delivery which was non existent, called at 10.15 and told them their site said it left their depot at 9am and they were unable to deliver and left a card at 9.15....their depot is an hours drive from my home, but they drove it in 15 minutes.......rubbish company, I will now not use any site which uses this company

I agree. If the drivers are this bad, think what the managers must be like!

Oh, so amazon deleted my complaint about Yodel 11 minutes ago. Well, at least that proves that someone at amazon is looking at these complaints. So why not do something about it and stop using Yodel?

In reply to an earlier post on 30 May 2013, 10:31:59 BST
That's very interesting - what was the complaint? Please repost! How odd that amazon would delete one complaint and yet completely ignore all the other complaints about yodel. Does anyone know how to contact amazon to find out how they handle all the complaints on these message boards?

Yodel just told a total lie by saying they couldn't access the flats where I am - I have a loud buzzer which was working at around the same time they claimed they couldn't get access (a friend popped by using it). AND told Amazon they tried to gain access, which is clearly untrue - if they did, where is the card saying they came? Nope no card. They do this AFTER I cancelled other arrangements. Well done Yodel. Does ANYBODY like this company? Why aren't Amazon listening? Nobody in the current climate has the money for bad service -- why do companies think they can run a scam and people will continue to use them? Or have companies going into administration elsewhere not sent the message that nobody is safe. Dump Yodel, you have a good customer base who want to keep using you. But we won't keep going forever.

I am now boycotting Argos and Ebuyer due to their use of yodel - how poor it is for a company to care more about cramming every little penny into its already bulging pockets at the expense of the customer experiance. I expected this from budget retailers like argos and ebuyer but the first time yodel fail to make a delivery to me and i am once again told: we are unable to contact the drivers they dont carry mobile phones, or we did call on you but you were not home (when I work from home and remain here all day long) Yodel itself does not deserve to still be a going concern, I will hold fast on my boycott of sites moving to yodels delivery service and I can't but wonder which companies will go down with yodel.

Does that mean I can have a refund on my Amazon Prime membership now as yodel will not make the deliveries next day - no chance!

My trees finally arrived after Yodel had them for 3 weeks. One of them was snapped in two and the other virtually dead! Well done Yodel!

I too have had problems with Yodel. I had the normal tracking email and in the litriture within this it said that if no one was in the package would be left in a safe place. I was given a 10 hours window (i think) for the delivery. I went out for 30 min and it was attempted to be delivered. The package was taken away and not left as stated in the information they sent me. I called the driver who had left 15 min prior who said he was out the area (or gone home with sreaming kids in the background) and I would have to wait until the next day. I had paid extra for next day delivery but the very poor service / information that yodel gave out lead to me missing the package. I arranged for the delivery the next day but had a call to say the the driver had broken down and I could go to him to collect it which I did he only lived 5 mins away from me. Great customer service etc etc. Finally one question why can companies like DPD give you a 1hr window for delivery and the joke of a company Yodel give you about 10 hours!! I would never use them by choice they are bloody awfull! This is just the very cut down version of my problems with Yodel.

Posted on 5 Jun 2013, 11:24:48 BST
They are useless!! As a lot of folk have said, they say they tried to deliver and no-one in - I have waited in, cancelling doctors appts for them (I am disabled and attend a lot of medical appts) and no delivery! And this happened FOUR times for the same item!
Items when finally delivered are smashed, wrappers ripped with drivers giving a "So What" attitude.
In future if I see that it is going to be a Yodel delivery, I will very probably cancel the order!

Yodel delivered 2x parcels to my home yesterday...both arrived on the correct day...albeit into the early evening...driver looked pretty harrassed, but was polite. It is the first delivery from them. No complaints.
