Isobel Ayres says:
Duh! Yes it is - Two Ten 200 (don't know where my failure of a brain dredged whatever else I called it up from!). She took it over in the spring this year.

It's very nice in there...I hope they enjoy it. It will be hard work but fun I should imagine...had a good meal in there a while back. You'll have to go and visit Isobel...tell us what you think. I thought that Falmouth had got it's MOJO back...after the dreadful fire at the hotel by the beach it looked very sad and a couple of my fav places had closed down but this visit it looked all bright eyed and bushy tailed again. If you like art there are some very good galleries and the one on the Moor above the Library has some great exhibitions.....lovely Tukes etc. I am no expert but I love art.

Hiyah All...x...I was just having a little wander online and found some Mincemeat recipes, so I scrolled down to the reviews to see what the comments were, as you do, and I came across this little gem!......

Katie says -
"I don't always use the Spices - they can be a bit much. I left out all of the nuts so that everyone can eat it, and using Vegetarian Suet is even better, and definitely no rind (mixed peel) cos I hate the stuff! Still it tastes wonderful. And I have been making this Mincemeat for years, though without the liqueur which I might add to this year's batch?"

So, out of a recipe with 19(!) delicious ingredients - that left her with just mixed fruits, grated apple, sugar and suet?!

ERRR?! yes Katie, that sounds - yummy?!?!?!

HA HA HA!!!......
Can you imagine the disappointment in Katie's house whenever the Mince Pies come out?!! ;o>

Or any food, given her description of mixed fruits, grated apple, sugar and suet as 'wonderful'! Poor lamb.

Well I think I earned my jerk chicken with rice and black eyed peas tonight! Walked round Penzance and then walked into Mousehole.....had a delicious snack in the Old Coastguard...crab rarebit and a nice glass of vino. Thought we'd catch the bus back to Penzance only to find there wasn't one! So had to walk back to the bus station! My pedometer says 16.8km...my dog is snoring and I've pigged out tonight!

Lovely! Popped into the Union Hotel...fine pub. The lord Mayor gave the news to the town that Nelson had been fatally wounded from the minstrls gallery from there. So Penzance was the first place in England to hear of the death. Tons of history!

Ooh pixie, you are lucky, I love it down there it,s a magical place to be. My husband used to do a lot of sea fishing out of Fowey and the first time I ever ate chateau briand was in a restaurant there.

Fowey is beautiful! Across the river where the ferry is stands Daphne du maurier's house...I believe her son lives there now..I have watched a dog run down the grass to the waters edge, jump in and have a swim, then out again to be dried off...was a lovely sight early morning. It's little wonder she wrote such atmospheric books with a backdrop such as that...must have been very inspiring. I think it was one of many houses she owned.
Good places to stay and eat ther too as you say Diamond....xxxx

Back to the thread...LOL...Thursday, market, fish day again! They had fresh basil today so I made Biker Bass again, with proper fresh basil in the middle but without the pine nuts...too pricey and I didn't taste any real flavour from them in the dish.

I just want to say, I don't know what the scale will say Saturday, particularly since I found some Rumanian Feta-type cheese that is soo salty, and I ate quite a chunk yesterday, which may make me retain (which I do, all too easily). BUT--and it's a big but--today I feel better than I have for over 3 years. Sleeping well, and I woke up feeling I'd overslept and it was only 7.30 AM! The rotator cuff pain is resolving, the lower back pain is gone, and today after the market we went downtown to pick up some books (Stienbeck, not cooking) from the uni bookshop (special order, that's easier for me than convincing DH to let me use his plastic online, yes I know I pay through the nose but what can I do?). We went on the bus and I am Still feeling energetic! I can keep pace with DH again, which as I say it's been over 3 years. Is it the fish? Can 2 lbs make all that difference? Or is it just the healthier diet and exercise?
I finally got a gymball and got it inflated and it is FUN. As mine is pale blue, DH calls it Rover (from The Prisoner)!

Or is it a result of your recent salt fix from the Feta?.....x

Posted on 25 Oct 2012, 12:36:48 BST
Nah...salt makes me lethargic.

In reply to an earlier post on 25 Oct 2012, 12:51:07 BST
So, if you hadn't had it.....?.....then we would now have a HyperWomble?!!.....x

Posted on 25 Oct 2012, 13:38:31 BST
Oh dear, that's a possibility! I know though that when I sit down after lunch I will probably melt.

So glad your back pain is better Ori.
I cannot believe I just got up. This has never happened to me before. My children have done all the washing up, made their breakfast and even looked after their big brother who apparently has been as good as gold (they drew the line at changing his ,errr...rather full and smelly nappy, though). Bless them. I could not sleep last night, so, I went back to bed around 7.00am. My, I feel so decadent.
After having changed the nappy, I am having my coffee.
Anyway, I came here to give an advice about something but I forgot what it was while reading the other posts. Oh well!
