Pixie,s pretzel cutter made me wonder if anyone else buys these kind of gadgets, go on, admit it, I bet we all have one tucked away somewhere. My "waste of money" items have included a juicer which produced very little juice, but lots of mess, egg slicers, cherry stoners, egg poachers, the eggs always stuck, bean slicers, apple corers, ice cream maker, you could hardly pour the mixture in, then you couldn,t get it out again, fancy knife sharpeners that blunted them, you name it, I,ve had it, but I must admit that a pretzel cutter really takes the biscuit.xxxx

I have a speedy peeler that takes an age to peel anything if that helps!

Doughnut maker was the worst -used once, couldn't remove the doughnuts and a nightmare to clean! This finally cured me of the urge to buy any more gadgets for obscure purposes. The only useful gadget I have ever bought is my bread maker - only use it for mixing pizza dough though.

They're all useless.

Apart from this apple corer and slicer thingy I've got (don't know its technical name). Just press down on an apple and hey presto, 10 perfect apple slices!

Yes, I had one with my old ken wood, made vanilla, too eggy, chocolate, too rich, and marmalade, too marmalady......stuck to Ben and Gerry after that, and now I have a kitchen aid stand mixer, gave the ken wood to my daughter, wish I,d kept it...... Oh well

I wondered if they were any good. I,ve got an ordinary apple corer, takes half my finger off trying to get the apple core out of the corer.xx

Oh no. Those ones are only good for taking soil samples.

This one: OXO Apple Divider is the business. (Ah, is that the technical name? Divider?)

However Apple Peeler Corer Slicer Cutter Machine is back in the realms of completely useless.

Hi Pixie,

Sounds like you've had a nice day. What are gonna make with your haul of swag?

This morning I did some packing. This afternoon I did some packing. And this evening I thought I might do some packing, just for a bit of variety.

It has a little, but it won't be too bad.

Your rissotto sounds good. I like liver, but haven't ever had it like that.
