Plonkers are all right in small doses - but - there is an expression - "I was FRIED" - when you are hopelessly drunk - so if you have a plonker at a party - get him / her totally "Fried" that they pass out upon the floor and give you no trouble
'Scuse me Charlie - beware of doing anything trendy - for it only lasts a while until the excuse my spelling (?) dilettantes decide what is next on the "TO DO" list
Love to all - and how de do to Mrs P

Charlie says:
And nigel, whilst we're talking about getting back to what you do best your last series sucked! And no you didn't invent devils on horseback!
I think the problem is that it's trendy to cook/bake at the moment and whilst I embrace people getting back in the kitchen it's all about shortcuts and speed. Hopefully the trend will pass and they'll not write/make shows for the masses and will get back to doing proper food and cooking for people who like to cook and eat.
If you've only got 15 minutes to make dinner a roast isn't it! Make Welsh rarebit or something

So take not Jamie. When me and Charlie tell you to get back to what you do best you'd better take note or else we will seek out every copy of your 1-Minute Meals books and burn them

In reply to an earlier post on 3 Feb 2013, 21:47:32 GMT
Charlie says:
Agreed Mrs.P love Jamie's older books. Haven't even bought the 15 min thing. So not into the speed cooking malarkey

Posted on 3 Feb 2013, 21:41:20 GMT
Don't give Jamie any ideas. He needs to move on from the whole speed cooking thing and get back to what he was doing before

I'm surprised he hasn't brought out an Asian themed book yet. Maybe he just doesn't like that kind of food

How about "Ten minute plonkers"?

Posted on 3 Feb 2013, 21:29:11 GMT
I've never tried. No doubt Jamie will have it in his next book though and call it something like "My Zany Super Crazy Plonker Party"

pixie says:
Can you grill or boil those Mrs P?....Plonkers I mean?xx You have such a way of putting things in perspective!lol!

Isn't it amazing how a forum about cooking can be so stressful at times?

I love the internet but it does have a lot to answer in that you get some right plonkers joining the discussion at times.

I know, people would think we were all crazy, or part of the sad, lost and lonely, who isn,t sometimes. But we all seem to connect, sometimes in a way that is not always possible with folk you have known for years or see regularly. I,m sure some eminent physcologist will have all the answers but for now I,m just very happy to have met you all and made some new friends. Xxx p.s. I,m no angel, as my nearest and dearest will confirm, I can be a right miserable cow at times. But hey, I,m only normal, not superwoman.xxx

It was a compliment Diamond. It's a bizarre thing chatting on here. How I care about people I've never met is odd. But you strike me as an angel albeit a crazy one lol xxxxx

In reply to an earlier post on 3 Feb 2013, 19:19:18 GMT
I think that was a compliment Charlie, I know I,m crazy but I like it... You can get away with all sorts. I,m thinking of wearing purple and eating nothing but sausages from now on, ooh and learning how to spit... It,s a poem by the way. I read the threads am and pm, I read them as they appear on my e,mail rather than by thread which is why I get so muddled up at times, but I,m old and soft in the head ...my excuse haha, believe it if you will, or I could just be a wise child. Anyway, my heart is always in the right place, I promise. Now I need a good recipe for slow cooked Chinese style belly pork, I want to tempt OH taste buds ????

Sorry that is somewhat long winded and garbled, am on my phone and reading back is impossible and to idle to edit! In short you all rock! Oh and pixie, you're way more than books lol

Charlie says:
Diamond you are crazy do you know that?!! You are always so sweet I really can't imagine how you think anybody could be upset or offended by you. I am endlessly tired, grumpy and irritable and undoubtably this comes across sometimes so I can see why I would be annoying but you never!!! (Also I use far too many exclamation marks!!!¡¡¡)
I'm just glad that the forum has managed to carry on as I love it here. So much to learn from everyone. I love pixie and mrs.P's recommendations on books, Patricia's eloquent words of wisdom, Ori's comical outlook on everything, Bears hilarious anecdotes, scarlet, stu, yourself diamond, Spock all bring entertainment and company along with great tips. I also adore reading about Frenchies confidence blooming in her kitchen. This place is respite from other stresses, may it remain stressfree and fun and informative
Thank you all and I'm sorry if I missed anyone out but all posts are what make coming here so great

Tea and cake indeed! And for the record you never need to worry about your posts...they are all charming!xxxxx

In reply to an earlier post on 3 Feb 2013, 17:57:47 GMT
I would hate to annoy you Pixie, there are some people who come into your life and although we will never meet I have found such pleasure in like minded people on this forum. You,Charlie, Ori,Patricia,Bear,Frenchie Stu and even little Spock, everybody in fact that it is such a shame when upsets occur. I am realising that I need to be very careful how I put things in future so as not to give the wrong impression. Now I suggest tea and cake all round before the old blood sugars drop too low.xxx

Never Diamond...I find you a sweet and lovely poster, you always make me smile and you really add to the mix. I am angry, you are quite right but I am angry that you feel so bad when it's other's behaviour that is in question.
You would NEVER annoy me and please be assured of that. Last night was a very uncomfortable night posting wise. I would like it to be laid to rest and you dear lady have nothing to concern yourself with.
I hope we have drawn a line under it all...you are not to blame for anything, just post and know we all love to hear from you..ignore the rubbish!

I,m sorry Pixie, I,ve just started reading the posts and I,m not too sure what,s been happening, I understand you are really upset and angry, but I am not quite up to speed. Do you think Suzy and Roo have been trolling. I hope I haven,t added to your annoyance, have I said something wrong now, it isn,t my intention, you know that little Pix.xx
