Would someone mind putting all the collected graphic novels in order for me so I know which ones to buy first. Looking at some of the artwork - as a long time TF fan - it really appeals to me, more akin to the 80's comics I used to read, but ive zero idea where to start. I see that we have stuff like this

Transformers Volume 2: International Incident (Transformers (Numbered))

Transformers: Megatron Origin (Transformers (Idw))

as well as

Transformers: Stormbringer (Transformers (Idw))

So for example, are these all part of the same universe? Or can each series be read independant of each other?

http://www.tfarchive.com/comics/titan/ seems to be what you're looking for.

Here's a complete list of the IDW "Generation 1" universe TPBs, in approximate reading order (note - not exactly chronological order, only a potential problem with some of the individual "Spotlight" issues). "Megatron: Origin" is chronologically FIRST, however, it's not a very good "beginning" experience for a new reader, and is not referenced in later material, so can almost be read completely independently. I've stuck it out "on its own" - it can be read anytime, though I'd definitely start with "Infiltration", which was intended to be the first part of this saga.

Transformers: Infiltration
Transformers: Stormbringer
Transformers: Spotlight, Vol 1
Transformers: Escalation
Transformers: Spotlight, Vol 2
Transformers: Devastation
Transformers: Spotlight, Vol 3
Transformers: Spotlight Revelations
Transformers: Maximum Dinobots
Transformers: All Hail Megatron, Vol 1
Transformers: All Hail Megatron, Vol 2
Transformers: All Hail Megatron, Vol 3
Transformers: All Hail Megatron, Vol 4
Transformers: Ongoing Vol 1: For All Mankind
Transformers: Bumblebee
Transformers: Last Stand of the Wreckers
Transformers: Ironhide
Transformers: Drift
Transformers: Ongoing Vol 2: International Incident

Other titles you may see e.g. the hardback "IDW Collections" collect up material from across the above TPBs.

It's really worth investing time (and money!) in this series; despite a few bumps in the road, it is a really good, fun Transformers saga!

Thats great, thanks very much for the list, its a big help. Last stand of the wreckers looked great, but I didn't just want to start in the middle of a universe.

Once All hail megatron finished the idw line of transformer titles has nosedived. Simon furman seems to have gone from the transformers mainstream and the stories get more and more daft. Take the ongoing series for example......

I definitely recommend picking up the "IDW Collections". They collect everything that's been released so far and contain on average 16 issues per volume. Volume 4 is due out some time around May.

They're really good ways to catch up. Highly recommended
