Books like "Did these stories really happen" show that the Luistania was so much more important a ship than the Titanic

How can you compare the two? The Titanic sank on it's maiden voyage!
The Lusitania still had insufficient life-boats which was part of the problem.
But as Mr. Murphy quite rightly states it was secretly carrying munitions as Britain wanted the US in the war sooner rather than later.
They were involved but from a distance.

The Titanic brought in a raft of mandatory law changes regarding the number of life-boats. The Titanic was also responsible for signage inside public places becoming mandatory. These are massive changes that still affect us today. The Lusitania was torpedoed, not bombed. Plus it was secretly carrying munitions.

The Lusitania being bombed in 1915 brought the US into WW1 two years later (as the book shows). The Titanic sinking brought no country into anything.
