Interesting! According to your Amazon profile it is your real name.

:)

Yes it is and so are three others

In reply to an earlier post on 14 Aug 2013 19:46:59 BDT
I Readalot says:
Sorry but you can only have one 'real' name so the others must be pseudonyms. But then of course I may be in error as to what constitutes a 'real' name', always thought it meant someone's legal name, the one on their birth/marriage certificate, the one they use for all legal purposes, but then I may be wrong.

Anita says:
I Readalot - sometimes people do have several "real" names... and several passports accordingly. But those hardly ever threaten to sue someone, so (hopefully) the person in question isn't one of those :)

Mmm hadn't thought of that. What fun this thread has been today, it has given me a giggle anyway. In response to the 'get out more' I was tempted to say that I was actually an agoraphobic and would love to! Oh well back to the book.

Happy reading :)

Dan Fante says:
You'd think a best-selling author would know the difference between "your" and "you're".

In reply to an earlier post on 15 Aug 2013 10:36:40 BDT
I Readalot says:
You would wouldn't you! Actually this whole situation is a bit daft, it all started because I replied to a different someone who had already been told on another thread that self-promo is only allowed in the MOA. I thought it was a bit rich calling regular forumites 'frustrated, judgemental and distrusting nobodies'. Shame that this thread can't be deleted really as it has become a magnet for self-promo.

In reply to an earlier post on 15 Aug 2013 13:47:26 BDT
Dan Fante says:
Surely it has to be either a pseudonym or your real name. I don't think you've thought this one through.

In reply to an earlier post on 15 Aug 2013 14:16:17 BDT
Anita says:
She seems a bit undecided. Quotes are strictly from her posts, without further comment (still thinking about being sued :) )

"yes you would be correct I do write under a pseudonym"

"Judith Connett is neither my pseudonym name or my real name."

"Yes it is and so are three others" - this particular one is in reply to I Readalot's post: "According to your Amazon profile it is your real name."

So it is her real, but not real name, not a pseudonyme, but a real name like the three other real names. Make your pick

In reply to an earlier post on 15 Aug 2013 15:21:03 BDT
I Readalot says:
When you put it like that it gets even more confusing! And isn't saying 'pseudonym name' a tautology?

In reply to an earlier post on 15 Aug 2013 15:32:31 BDT
Anita says:
I suppose it is, but tautology can also be a stylistic device - ? :)

True! I like the sound of word 'tautology' don't get to use it very often though.

Dan Fante says:
I suppose your having given the same 5 Star review to the same book as our dear literary friend Judith is pure coincidence.

In reply to an earlier post on 16 Aug 2013 11:27:16 BDT
I Readalot says:
And somehow there are 2 reviews for the same book in each profile. How does that work?

I assumed that one of them was an update. This seems to be a problem for Kindle readers - an updated book can appear on a new page, and since the customer is not alerted that they already have the book, they can end up buying it twice.

The proper way to deal with this of course is for the author to update the existing book, but they probably find that a reissue is more profitable!

Please do not use these discussion forums to promote your own book. It is both unwelcome and against Amazon rules. From the "Important Announcement from Amazon":

"With the advent of the new (`Meet Our Authors') community, we will no longer allow self-promotional posts in other communities.

Starting on December 15, 2011, all "shameless self-promotion" activity will be limited to the `Meet Our Authors' community."

Put your spam in the "Meet Our Authors" forum. That's what it's for.

In response to your reply, I would never take advantage or contravene Amazon rules and do apologise for this oversight. It was never my intention to do so.
Thanks for your advice.
