The picture quality is brilliant and the sound is excellent, the pause feature is fantastic and a very cool idea (shame your standard TV can't do it). The bundled software includes a TV scheduler which has worked every time providing near DVD quality images and sound to match although it's up to you to set the quality settings for recording. The recordings can take up a lot of space on your hard drive but using the supplied editing software you can convert it to DVD, SVCD and more allowing you to burn it to disk. For the problems I found during setup I'd have to give it 2 out of 5 but for the final quality and the features I'd give it 5 out of 5
