How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I bought this thinking that the tracks would be those performed by the artists on the Tube. WRONG! The tracks are from the respective artists' studio albums. Shame they don't state that on the Amazon listing, eh?

Who can forget the Tube? The weekly row with my Dad to allow me to eat my tea if front of the telly & him having to miss Nationwide. The rush home from school, the anticipation, the great live bands. Oh happy days indeed.
However, this double disc is something of a disappointment. I had hoped for live versions of these songs taken straight from the school, but they are merely the studios versions most of us already have. Very disappointing - especially as the tv ad uses live frontage.
Another disappointment is the somewhat 'conversative' track selections - going for old hits rather than the album tracks, etc that the show featured - understandable maybe, but The Tube was a cutting edge programme that didn't pander to the commercical activities of the record companies - seems that everyone as to sell out these days.
Don't get me wrong, the tracks are good, as are the groups - Ech & the Bunnymen, The Stranglers, Elvis Costello, The Jam all rub shoulders with Iggy Pop, Wham!, Ultravox & Squeeze.
But you can't help thinking that good though it is, it in someway doesn't do the show justice. And a Tube of old would wipe the flour with today's 'yoof culture' programmes.

I used to love watching the Tube and it was on this programme that i first discovered U2 and The Icicle Works amongst others,so this 2 disc best of holds some appeal.
The early eighties was my time for music and most of my favourites appear here.
As well as U2 and The Icicles we have a further 35 tracks including Big Country,Squeeze,Frankie,Psychedelic Furs,The Stranglers,Echo and the Bunnymen and many many more, even a cd rom video version of U2 performing New Years Day live on the programme.
The only let down is the appearance of Culture Club and Wham on an otherwise great double cd of the best music of the eighties.
