How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

My brother had a tape of this when we were growing up and I remembered finding it very funny, so when I saw it for sale as an MP3 for 99p, I decided to get it. It is still very funny but I do recognise that it is not very PC by today's standards. There is no aggressive racism but it does make use of the term 'n*gro' once and some racial stereotypes. Regarding sexism, again, there is nothing aggressive but it reflects what I imagine to be some of the attitudes of the time. One comment may not be appreciated by the non-binary. If you can get past the non-pc elements, it offers an entertaining insight into a profession that you might not hear much about elsewhere and into the aviation industry in general. Without the non-pc elements I would give this a 4- or 5-star rating but it's not for everybody.

It is of its time, and will undoubtedly offend, but I have been listening to an imperfect copy that a friend made for me in the '80's and I still laugh just as much now, it's also very 'quotable'... in my household it is a long standing-tradition on Christmas day whilst cooking 😂 .. I'm so glad I now have my own!!

Thought I had lost this gem along with my audio tape collections. So happy and surprised to find it on amazon. Its just as I remembered and just as funny. Still relevant today even though catching a plane is now about as exciting as taking the Midland Red (bus) to Coventry! Thank You Amazon.

I was given a copy of this after dinner speaker's tape many years ago and played it until the tape disintegrated! I have thought of it now and again and told my husband how funny it was but never thought to look for it on the internet - until now. Playing it again I was surprised to realise that I am still more or less word perfect with it - and still laughing, even after almost 40 years. This man is funny and the content is still relevant today. Buy it yourself and see

It is a masterpiece in timed delivery and wit from a man who knows and has practised every move
In reality who has a great respect for the subject
And fill it with so many fact .
You will find that year latter you will still remember
The fact that this after dinner speech is filled with.
I think it would have even made Queen Victoria laugh,
I recommend this recording if you like rib tickling story.

Very funny. The speaker is an accomplished raconteur. He's ex- RAF and an air traffic controller with a brilliant sense of humour. I've listened to this many times and still almost crying with laughter.

So I bought this as a present for my aunt (I’m guessing as generation X I’m not the target audience) and in doing so it popped into my amazon music library, so I started listening, listened through the sexism (excusing it mentally as ‘it was the seventies’) but then I came to the racist language. To me there’s no excuse for that being included and I wouldn’t have bought the CD if I’d known that beforehand. The only reason I’ve given it one star is because I have to to post the review

This is an after dinner speech from an air traffic controller, it is well presented and has you laughing from start to finish, it mentions our greatest aircraft Concorde, a nice reminder to those who remember that fabulous aircraft. His use of double entendre is well done and I find myself quoting bits often. An hilarious CD, well worth the money and played at least three times a week. Fabulous.
