Product description

Book Description

They call him 'Lash', after the velocity at which he wasofficially recorded as the hottest shot in football. Peter Lorimer's blistering 76mph strike left many a goalkeeper clutching thin air as he waltzed into the record books as a permanent member of the fantastic Leeds United team which, under the managership of Don Revie from1961-74, carried all before them. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

About the Author

Peter Lorimer is now involved with the commercial side of the club through matchday entertainment, contributes to matchday commentaries for BBC Radio Leeds, writes a weekly column for the Yorkshire Evening Post and is organiser of the ex-players' association. Phil Rostron is a successful journalist, having been sports editor for the Daily Star for the last ten years. He now holds the same post at the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Format: Paperback
Having just read The Unforgiven, Peter Lorimer's autobiography was an insider's view of the same period in Leeds United's history. Peter certainly doesnt hold back and tells it how he saw it.

There are some great insights into how players were recruited in those days, 'gifts' for referees on European nights and the relationship between Don Revie and his team.

Another must for Leeds fans 'of a certain age' or those looking to build a knowledge of football in the 60s and 70s.

I enjoyed every page.
