I bought this for starting university and I didn't want (or need) a heavier laptop.
I love it! Its cute and neat, I use it mostly for word processing, internet, music and occadionally games like solitare. It works really well, it can sometimes be a little slow it you're running lots of things at the same time but I still think its great. The maximum battery life I can get from it is 3 hours on a full charge, although I usually get about 2 - 2.5.
Its very quick to start up, the internet sometimes takes a minuet or 2 (although that might just be my connection!)but it opens flash drives etc. right away.
The only thing that bothers me about it is the touch pad is really sensitive so if you brush the cursour over a hyperlink or something it clicks it automatically (annoying whe youre ust reading something!) and I can't figure out how to change the sensitivity, so I sometimes just plug a mouse in instead. Other than that I think its great! Cheap and quick delievery from Amazon too!

I love this netbook for its size and general "feel" but I am not getting the battery life as advertised i.e. 4 hours. Fully charged it reads just over 3 hours and runs down fairly quickly although I use only text-based applications. Otherwise it is neat and does the business.

I bought this product approx. 2 weeks ago and it is excellent value for money. I needed a netbook/laptop for research purposes and tried to purchase a refub (same price, different brand) through Argos clearance on e-bay which was an absolute nightmare. Argos didn't deliver and e-bay's website was confusing in trying to get contact details. After trying to contact them via telephone and email to track my order, to no avail I gave up only to be sent an email 2 weeks later that the item was returned to them undelivered!

Anyway, being an Amazonite, I looked on Amazon and found this neat little machine which I am soooo pleased with. The delivery was quick, the machine is new, it picked up the wireless network instantly, is super easy to install, has 4 hours battery life, is very lightweight (it fits in my handbag) and definitely fit for purpose. Would recommend for purchase. It's a good buy.

Ordered two of these for my boys as I can never get on the family laptop as it is forever on CBBC. This was their BIG surprise on Christmas morning and they adore them - I thought they would be a bit too small to see anything - but they haven't complained . The 10 year old now reads the news online! I'm not sure I could get used to the size of the screen to write documents etc. but that might not be helped by my short sightedness!
A great wee piece of kit at a very great price.

Bought this for a ... teenager. She loves it - it's been dropped half a dozen times and even thrown once, and it still works - so it is certainly a robust machine - but I'm not recommending testing it dropping it etc. Used 3 or 4 hours a day for the past year and a half the battery is still holding its charge and nothing has gone wrong with it. Recommended for people who want a netbook for websurfing, word processing etc.

Read a number of positive reviews on Amazon from other purchacers of this product, so made an advance order for when back in stock. Once again Amazon delivered the goods earlier than the quoted date and with their usuall effective packaging.

I only wanted this Netbook to be used as a digital music player, to store my complete CD collection and to play back via my A.V. receiver/amplifier. I therefore did not need an all singing specification and this eMachines unit, with Windows XP and a 160Gb H.D.D. met all my needs.

This netbook is not pretty to look at, being finished in a rather dull mat black but appears to be robust and well made with a good bright display. The keys are full size (in fact if anything are larger than those on my desktop unit)and they function very well. The touch pad however is a might too sensitive and you need to have a very light touch or you get unwanted actions very easily.

The wireless set up took only about 2 minutes to get working via my Bt Home Hub and has remained rock steady with no loss of contact. The volume output level when connecting the earphone socket to the Aux input of my amp was deafening and I had to reduce the netbook's volume controle level down to below half.

The battery life seems on a par with that quoted although I am operating the unit direct on mains electric most of the time. At just under £[] and with free delivery, I believe this to be exelent value for money.

My only gripe is with the rather inadaquate "quick Guid" instruction book, as supplied. I found this to be not as helpful as I needed and had to resort to downloading a copy of the full guide from eMachines website

Very good in the competitive market and product too. After using about an hour it going to heatup. Vantilator is downside, if it is up side near keyboard or side, it could be better.

OVERALL VERY GOOD ON THE PRICE THAT I PAID. FANTASTIC RESPONSE. ONCE OR TWICE IT GONE TO FREEZE WHILE IN USE.

    ME MY CHILD LIKE IT.
