Top customer reviews
It's great fun, you can produce a reasonable variety of tunes (although as it says on the tin, you're basically making Dance music), there's a good range of samples, and it doesn't take too much getting used to, for adults or kids. We've had plenty of hours of fun on this, more than with most computer games and with the added bonus that you're actively creating things, not passively consuming them.
So this would have been at least a 4 star review... until I bought my new laptop, with Windows 8. Dance eJay 6 doesn't work on this machine at all.
So if you're working on Win7 or earlier (XP is fine too), and you're going to stay that way, it'll be a good purchase; but if you are, or are thinking of, running Win8 - steer clear.
Problem 1: Serial number is on the disc, so type the number into notepad first before loading the disc.
Problem 2: Activation e-mail never arrived, so you have to go to a website to get the activation key
Problem 3: Export sample doesn't work because the context menus do not change from mode to mode
Problem 4: Uninstallation and reinstallation on the same PC uses up an activation
Problem 5: All activations used trying to diagnose bugs in their software and there is no support anywhere
Problem 6: I'm left with a completely useless piece of software
Problem 7: How do I get my money back - Yelsi A.G. are just a Swiss shell IP reseller by the looks of it
Problem 8: I'm on my own... This sucks.
I suppose it's only £7, but that's £7 wasted.
Until there is some kind of customer support I'd avoid this.
everytime you try to email them the link fails,at least version 5 still works and is excellent 6 is not improved from what I managed to glean when it was working this fixation with always changing things that worked better before I take great exception to, the graphic environment I found as clear as mud.
try creating a cd or turning a song into a mp3 format and you might be very lucky it worked fine at fist???
i have 4 songs on here i just cant play on any format other than the program itself, even using the create a cd it just says [burning error]after 40 percent load
its like it has a mind of its own and im a fairly techno savvy guy ive triad lots of ways to get my tunes off the program to no avail
buy something new instead
On my laptop which way exceeds the minimum specs in every way the software doesn't even show the full interface, a large part of it is outside the boundry of the screen. I even tried running my 2nd monitor in the recommended resolution and still it doesn't work.
The drag and drop interface is more like drag and drop then drag and drag and drag some more. It flat out does not work.
Upon doing some Google searches for my issues it seems hundred of users had the same problems and gave up. My guess is it just hasn't really been tested on Win7 (I use the 64bit version). This is the worst software I have purchased in a long time and I am returning it to Amazon for a refund as it is not fit for purpose.
I was able to create many great tunes with it. The Output Wizard can output multiple useful formats, and allows upload of completed work to online social apps.
