Old caulking can be removed with the CRAMER removal tool with saw blade. Whatever is left on tiles or smooth surfaces can be removed with the scraping blade. When removing old mildew stained caulks wear a protective mask!

Transforms the job of applying silicone
I used to dread applying silicone and it invariably ended in a mess of silicone over the joint.It still takes a bit of practice to get it right, but the kit really makes applying silicone a much more reliable exercise.The transverse skis are also an excellent addition, making a smooth bead of silicone across the tile joints.One tip to make the bevel size easier to read is to apply a coat of white silicone over the blades and then wipe the surface until only the measurement indentations have silicone. The photo attached to this review shows what I mean.

    Watched Charlie White DIY on You Tube and decided to give this set a go. Tried it first on my daughters shower unit. Excellent result in the most part. Only one area that was a little difficult to work with as the corner of the shower was not square, but managed to overcome the issue. Very neat lines as per Charlie's video.

    Second use was on my shower where a clear seal on the shower glass had let water in behind it and then subsequently developed the black mold. I managed to easily pull out the seal in one piece, shower tray to top of shower. It was a half seal which explained how the water had got in behind it. Cleaned it all out with bleach and then isopropyl alcohol to degrease the area and applied clear silicon rubber top to bottom. Perfect finish. Then cleaned out some of the other shower fitting that attached to the tiles and resealed them with new silicon and these Cramer tools.

    Third use was to re-seal around our kitchen worktop. The old silicon had come away from the splashback and worktop in various high moisture areas, behind sink taps and also behind gas hob. The removal tool is great for pulling out the old silicon, but you need to have some care when doing so. To get behind the taps, sink and hob I tried to use some cheap equivalent tools that look similar but they just weren't as good. I used the smallest tool in the kit and that did the job well. It was just narrow enough to fit end on, between the sink top and the splashback.

    The removal tool is good but a little flimsy in the way it holds the blade. I will be looking to get a new one and some of the replacement blades. I may also get another set of the tools just so I could maybe cut them in half to gain access to some very narrow gaps, but not bothering yet as I have done all my required jobs.

    It’s a job I had been putting off as I always struggle with silicon. Decided to buy one of these kits after seeing a YouTube video using them and thought well it can’t be worse than my usual method.

    Did the job most of the time but just using a finger on the sealant would have been cheaper. The tool to get out old grouting is OK but I resorted to using a wallpaper scraper and a craft knife. Cleaned up Ok but I doubt I'll be using it again. Next time, I'll get a professional in.

    This kit makes finishing silicone beads easy and much cleaner and more uniform than the 'traditional' wet finger method.

    The range of profiles that can be created using these tools covers everything one is likely to need - certainly in a domestic environment. Cleaning the profiles is easy too.

    I would advise against over-filling the bead with silicone: it is much easier and less wasteful to use the minimum consistent with creating a full bead. A superior bead finish is created if the face of the scraper profile is kept perpendicular to the direction of movement. As a wise man once said: "if all else fails, follow the instructions!".
