They hold a good amount of stuff. I drilled holes to bolt them to my motorcycles side bag mounts. I sealed the bolt holes with black RTV as I threaded them in from the inside of the cases.
On a trip across PA it POURED for 4 hours and at 90mph these kept out every drop of water.
They are plenty sturdy for nearly any need.

A problem that can be easily solved, is that the latches do not stay open. They all fall in the wrong place when one tries to close the box. I used furniture pads as shown to increase the friction and solve the problem.
The shape of the box could be improved to allow for vertical storage on the small lateral sides.
