I bought this nice compact amplifier to give a moving coil microphone some extra gain connected to a Behringer mixer. It works extremely well. I have only used it as a mic preamplier, not as a mixer. The gain is specified as 50dB. I didn't measure this, but there was plenty of gain for my application, the noise level was very low and I didn't encounter any headroom problems.
The only thing that fooled me initially, is that both of the gain controls have a switch at the minimum gain (fully anticlockwise) position. This switch controls the power to the amplifier. So with both inputs switched off, the red power indicator light on the front is unlit. The amplifier arrived with both gain controls set to off, so when I plugged it in, the indicator failed to light and I thought the power supply might have been faulty. It was only later that I discovered the switches in the gain controls. I don't know why the manufacturers included this feature in the design as it seems pretty pointless.
I noticed in other reviews that one or two people had problems. Please note that this mixer won't work with a capacitor microphone that requires a polarising voltage or microphones that work with a phantom power supply.
