This is the first book I have read by Sue Watson but I can absolutely guarantee that it won’t be the last one I read. I have heard lots of good things about Sue from other bloggers, authors and readers.

As I always say, I don’t want to write too much about the storyline as I have a nasty habit of giving away far too much about books I have enjoyed (oops). Well I totally and absolutely flipping loved this book but more about that later. The synopsis says it all really. Ten years ago Dani fled Appledore with a broken heart and a lot of broken dreams. Only now does she feel strong enough to try to put her past behind her and to return to the scene of heartbreak, Appledore. Dani gets herself a job working in the new look ‘Ice Cream Cafe’, which has certainly changed since she lived in Appledore. Dani is still nursing a broken heart and everywhere she turns in Appledore, there seems to be a reminder of her ‘lost love’ Jude, although she does have the gorgeous sounding, personal trainer Chris to keep her occupied. The temptation to break her diet is everywhere. Jude makes a reappearance (boo hiss) at Dani’s birthday party and history threatens to repeat itself. Is Dani going to get the body she so dreams of having? Will Dani be able to deal with the past which threatens to spoil her future? Will Dani’s birthday party go with a bang? Will Dani get back with Jude or is she destined to be with someone else? Well for the answers to those questions and more you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves. You won’t regret it.

I absolutely, totally and utterly loved the character of Dani for many reasons- some of which I am not going to go into on a blog. Those who know me well will realise why if they read the book. Anyway back to Dani.

I love Sue's books and this is my favorite by far. A lead character which anybody can identify with, laugh out loud moments and, I'm not ashamed to say, tears in my eyes at the end. Buy this book, you will not be disappointed!

Having enjoyed the first book in the series so much, I was really excited to read the next instalment. Hooked from the very first page, often laughing out loud, chuckling, giggling, smiling to myself, this was a perfect summer read. The main character, Dani is so likeable that you can't help but root for her. Without giving any spoilers, the ending was exactly as I'd hoped and even brought a happy tear to my eye. An absolutely delightful story that left me with the feel-good factor long after reading. Highly recommended.

After reading two of Sue Watson's book's I was looking forward to this one, but sadly it's no where near as good. Repetitive and a little boring, saying the same things time after time, just using different words.
The story line was very different from the usual rom com's, so this had the potential to be fabulous...it just wasn't. I was also shocked to read that Dani the main character wasn't the 20 stone woman she was portrayed to be, but a 13 stone 2 .....to be precise, "miss uk average size 16!" I found this unrealistic and although it was fictitious, think that many women of that size and weight could end up thinking of themselves in a unpositive way after reading this book.
Sadly I have been put off reading any more of Sue Watson's books I think.

Once again Sue Watson puts words on a page and creates her magic. This book though touched me in many ways and I felt all the conflicts and frustration that Dani was going through as been there, done that and still wear the oversized t-shirt. One thing I have taken from this story is to find what makes you truly happy and like Dani do it for yourself not for others otherwise you are always setting yourself up to fail. Thank you Sue for yet another wonderful story that so many of us can relate to in lots of different ways yet still has light and laughter and of course a delicious hottie in the delectable Chris.

Loved this, couldn't put it down. Love the girls, made me want to go to gorgeous Appledore and hang out with them all while having lots of gorgeous ice cream. Can't wait for more, hoping there is more stories from these girls to come. 👍👍👍👍👍

I really enjoyed this followup book reading about another character from the last book. Unusual ly this was really only about one person and her journey but good to see her development.
