How many times have people felt that fairy tales are real, not as easy as happy ever after. If you want proof then read these stories. Nothing ever happens the way you have thought it would.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

I loved reading this book!!! I am a big fan of this author's writing and every book i read of hers just makes me love her writing more and more!!! I was enthralled with this story from the first page right up until the last. This story really took me back to being a teenager, i think it's safe to say we have all had feelings for someone that either hasn't been returned or we just don't know how the other person feels. My love of ghost stories and urban myths stared when i was a teenger so i really related to this aspect of the story too.

I loved the storyline for this story, it was full of imagination with a lot of reality making us as readers really relate to the story. I loved how vivid the descriptions are within this book, you feel transported within the book so it's not just a story and i always think it's amazing how this author is able to write in such a way.

I loved reading Jane’s character, the main thing i loved about her is how she will go above and beyond for the people that she loves, this shows her high level of courage and determination!! It's obvious that she has a really big heart, she just needs to let others into it!

I loved this novella and would highly recommend this to other readers! Readers should definitely read this book and this author's other works as she is an amazing author!!!

Sleepless Beauty by Erin Hayes

Jane and Hayden have been friends since early childhood when a dare in a haunted graveyard goes terribly wrong.

Wow - I loved this story which told the story of a ghost and what went wrong when a dare between friends went a bit too far. It had lots of surprises and as for the twist at the end - WOW. The story was well told and I was living through the events and emotions as the story developed.

5.0 out of 5 stars ... the stories but I wanted to comment on the awesome twist to the story of Sleeping Beauty aptly named ... 4 April 2017

OK I haven't finished the rest of the stories but I wanted to comment on the awesome twist to the story of Sleeping Beauty aptly named Sleepless Beauty by Erin Hayes. How this author was able to come up with a twist in the short story I will never understand but it is a goody and with an awesome cast of characters to make it work. I can't wait to see what else is in store for us from the rest of these tales.

The additional stories include a science fiction story of intergalactic cooperation between planets where forbidden love is found, werewolves and vampires who are the good guys and who are the bad; deceptions in the origin of snow. All you need to know is this is a great group of books with a special twist that give old favorite fairy tales an eerie new flavor.
3.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE: One cliffhanger 23 April 2017

A collection of five mostly good twisted tales. The reasons I do not want to give this collection more stars are:
1) The story by M.L. Sparrow:: " The origins of snow" is a long story that suddenly stops and then there is the phrase "to be continued" but you are not given any indication of WHERE to find the rest of the story.
2) The formatting: There are no divisions between the different stories, and there is no links from the table of contents to the different stories. That means that if you want to read the stories in a different order you have to browse through those that is before the one you want to read.
5.0 out of 5 stars Not Your Childhood Bedtime Tales 9 Jun. 2017
By Chantal-Lise Mirman - Published on Amazon.com

These five vignettes are merely teasers into alternate realms of previously well-established Fairy Tales; satisfying on their own, but leaving the reader with a definite appetite for more. The characters are fully developed, the imagery supportive and the plots as slippery as you would expect!
3.0 out of 5 stars A fairy tale version like no other 2 May 2017
By Steph Destiny - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Twisted Princess is a series of paranormal romance stories that show you a whole different side of fairy tales. Sleeping Beauty was never a beautiful princess awaiting the kiss of prince charming. In fact, she was sort of like a banshee but instead of screaming the death of her prey at the top of her lungs, she kissed their sleep out of them. Rapunzel was never named like that. Funny thing is that Rapunzel is the name of a ship and Cybele isn’t a beautiful girl with hair as long as a highway, waiting to let it fall from the window of a tower. She doesn’t even have magical hair. On the other hand, Wonderland is all about Alyce. However, this woman isn’t a girl running after a white rabbit that goes back to her world all on her own. No, she might need the help a certain detective.
I must admit I didn’t know what to expect of this collection of short novels when I read the blurbs. I knew they would be imaginative and unique, some hold sparks of science fiction and contemporary aspects that I would have never imagined would be a part of the cute Disney versions we all read. They aren’t as dark as the version of the Grimm Brothers but they certainly deliver a whole new view of what fairy tales can be for the grow ups.
The only complains I have about the formatting. It was a little difficult to figure out when one story started and the other ended. If I didn’t know Jane was a character of the second short story, I would have read a page or two of her story without figuring out it wasn’t part of the Beast Within. Also, I am not such a fan of cliffhangers. I can’t live with them because all the possible ending of the story poke me again and again until I know what happens for certain. Therefore, I think it is fair to warn you all that one of the short stories had a to be continued…I am not telling you which. Leaving those few details out, I highly recommend these novels. In fact, I don’t mean to play favorites but I have a soft spot for Sleepless Beauty.
