About the Author

Eden Summers is a bestselling author of contemporary romance with a side of sizzle and sarcasm. She lives in Australia with a young family who are well aware she's circling the drain of insanity. Absolutely loved reading A Shot of Sin you have the smart, sassy, sexy Shay porter knows her stuff who's attracted to one of the owner's Leo Petrova who also drools over Shay you can feel the chemistry between them it's like fireworks going off every time there near each other. But he has a secret that he's not sure he wants to share with her. We go through the sexual tension to the explosion with Shay and Leo which won't disappoint you. Looking forward to the next installment. Would totally recommend.

I’m always happy when I come across a new author. I’m even happier if the first book of theirs I read hooks me. After that I’m just plain old addicted. When it came to Eden Summers, I hadn’t actually read any of her books – naughty Marta, bad girl! – but, I was aware of her. I have her on my TBR Author list, but that thing is so long it’s going to take me yonks to get through that baby. Anyway, when I was given the option of reviewing A Shot of Sin I jumped at it… obviously, duh! The title alone got me… SOLD! And, FYI Union of Sin is getting hammered ASAP – that’s the second book in the Vault of Sin series and it’s all about TJ… I so want to cuddle him… with him… aaaaahhh…

So, it took me a bit of a push to get into the book. At first some of the lingo was just bugging the crap out of me. I hate the term/word wench. It’s such a medieval word that just does not need to make an appearance in a contemporary romance. Unfortunately it was used quite a bit in the first few chapters and I actually wanted to poke my eyes out and throw my kindle across the room. It’s rather dramatic, but certain words trigger certain things in me… like, jizz. That sucker makes me laugh my butt off. It’s not very mature, but what can I say. I’ve got to stay young somehow! Anyway, the joy of A Shot of Sin is that X and Y have met and gotten dirty and now they just need to get filthy. If that makes sense? No, well… basically Leo has already had his fingers in Shay’s lady garden… in the stockroom of his bar no less! Shocking! Not really… I’m in a funky mood – too much coffee. The joy of that having happened before you open the book is that you get straight to the bantery and feisty angst that makes this book so so so great. At first Shay grated on me a bit.

Wow this book is definitely NSFW. If you're very vanilla then you'll want to read this somewhere discreet and private. If you're a little more like Leo, TH and Brute you can read this anywhere but just be aware of public decency laws!

This is one hot read and I'm now wishing I knew of a 'vault of sin' in my neck of the woods. Shay suffered from a lot of damp panties and after reading about Leo (and TJ and Bruce) she isn't the only one.

I loved Shay's mix of sass and vulnerability, she is a wonderful heroine. Leo would melt the panties off a nun he is so alpha male hot. The chemistry between them almost broke my kindle and I loved that everything was so consensual, and with both prepared to alter their life for the other (I love an alpha male but hate how in some books the girl has to be humiliated and forced beyond her comfort zone).

I think you can gather that I LOVED this book. So much so I didn't jump straight into reading another but took time to bask in the afterglow of have read this. The quality of the writing is awesome, the plot was refreshingly different, I really liked the characters and the pace was good. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

A Shot of Sin is a workplace romance, but this isn't just any workplace! It's a restaurant (Taste of Sin), a bar (Shot of Sin), and a sex club (Vault of Sin). If you like hot alpha males and sassy women, then this is the perfect book for you! It is book one of the Vault of Sins series, but it can easily be read as a standalone.

The characters were well developed, believable, and at times, very frustrating. Leo is part owner of A Shot of Sin, along with his friends TJ and Brute. Shay is probably their best bartender, with a sassy mouth and sometimes a hot temper. Leo and Shay got a little carried away in a storeroom one day, and now it's affecting their jobs. Leo doesn't think a permanent relationship will work with anyone because of the Vault. Will Shay prove him wrong? Can they continue working together?

I was already a fan of Eden Summers' Reckless Beat series, but this was my first Vault of Sin book. I had a little difficulty getting into it at first because I was getting frustrated with Leo and Shay. They drove me so crazy sometimes that I wanted to shake them! The plot was steady and unique. I'm so glad I pushed through the first few chapters and kept reading because I became so hooked that I had to jump right into the next book in the series!

I reviewed this book on behalf of A Book Lover's Emporium book blog.

★✩★✩★5- Sexy, Frustrating & Intense -Stars★✩★✩★
~this review may contain minor spoilers~

~Unbeknown to Shay, she'd proven she wasn't what he needed, no matter how much she thought she was. His sexual appetite was raw, demanding, and not suitable for someone with a narrow scope on pleasure.
In the few moments they'd shared, he'd seen her innocence. She wasn't a virgin by any means, but neither was she a female equipped to handle his desires.~

Leo Petrova is in a bit of a spot when he finds himself short one bartender in his underground sex club. His two best friends, and co-owners, Brute and TJ don't see what the problem is when they have a more than capable Bar manager in their upstairs bar that can work it. The trouble is, she has no idea about the club that runs underneath her feet. It doesn't help matters that Leo has wanted her since he hired her, but can't have her. It became clear very early on that she wouldn't be able to handle his sexual cravings and the last thing he wants is for her to discover exactly how deviant he can be – having her work downstairs in The Vault will do exactly that. But he is left with very few options and a cheesed off woman who simply thinks he doesn't believe she can handle the new responsibilities.

He used to be playful and flirty and charming...until the night he slid his hand into her pants and then backed away like he'd armed a bomb.
“Now I'm just another easy bar wench.”
“Excuse me?”
“I said, go fluck yourself.”

Shay Porter is sick of the games between her and Boss-man Leo. She wants him, has made no secret of it and she knows he wants her too-but for reasons unknown to her -he won't go there.
