To say I'm lost for words is an understatement.
I've never read anything by this author before but, when a friend recommended it to me I thought I'd give it a go...
Wow! Talk about an eye opening emotional roller coaster.
I won't talk about the book much, instead it's the underlying message within the story; Live for today.
Reading about Landon,, knowing what he's going through, how short a time he has left, made me think long and hard. Yes, he pushes people away, he feels that due to his illness there's no point in finding love, not when he doesn't know how long he's got left. Yet, when love does unexpectedly, and in Abel's case, forcefully, find him, he realises eventually that he deserves to be happy just as much as anyone else. For me the perfect song for this book would be "IF today was your last day" by Nickelback. The lyrics really do say it all.
The way this story was written was fantastic, and just like the note at the beginning says, it wasn't about dying, it was a story about living life to the max!!
Such a beautifully emotional story one that will leave everyone who reads it re-evaluating their own lives.
I will DEFINITELY be reading more books by this author!!

5 stars+......This book just popped up on fb and I was intrigued enough to look it up and read a few of the reviews....I'm so glad I did....Nicky is a new author for me and I went into this book with an open mind considering what it's about....As the author says it's not about dying....It's about living.....Landon sweet Landon broke my heart a few times...What was going through his head knowing that he was terminally ill was heart-wrenching......Going through his bucket list is something I would probably do myself...When he met Abel I just knew these two would be perfect together...There's a part in this that will just rip you apart and want to hug both Landon and Abel both tightly and never let go.....The ending was just perfect and knowing that there's going to be a second book is both good and bad.....We know the next book will be for Abel but I'm glad Landon opened himself up to love with Abel and didn't go through the bad times alone....A beautiful read that you should not miss x

I have just finished reading this book and I can honestly say that it has completely slain me in the best ways possible. I'm not one for getting all emotional and although I managed to keep the tears in check, my heart was in my mouth for most of the book and I don't think I have been so engrossed or so lost in a story in a very long time. It seems wrong to say that I loved it when it is about such a sensitive and devastating subject but I can't come up with any other way than to just say that this is an awe-inspiring piece of writing that really gets you thinking.

From the blurb, you will already know that Landon has been diagnosed with a form of terminal brain cancer and although he wants to experience as much as he can with however long he has left, he has decided to make his journey alone, determined not to form any attachments so he won't drag anyone down with him. His plans are somewhat de-railed by a chance encounter with a stranger who is more than persistent in his endeavors to get to become better acquainted with him. Abel has no idea of the secrets that Landon carries but is so drawn to him that he refuses to take 'no' for an answer - to anything. What is only meant to be a one-night stand becomes so much more complicated by the fact that Abel is unwilling to accept just 'one night' and because deep down, Landon knows that in an ideal world, he'd want more too.

The reader follows the pair on their travels, is privileged to get a ringside seat to their developing relationship and can only be inspired by their handling of such a situation.

"I love you,Abel,as much as you've made this harder on me,you've made my life a million times brighter. No regrets, okay?"

A truly moving love story

There is a note to the reader at the start of this book, from the Author.I'm only going to quote her final words and hopefully that will be enough to convince anyone to read this amazing book.

No one will die in this book. You will not journey with Landon to his end.Instead, you will walk beside him and watch him live.

I knew reading this would be painful for me as someone very close to me had the exact same illness Landon has.I knew all those memories would come flooding back and they did but I wouldn't have missed reading this for anything.

Landon is 26 and has a terminal illness. He's working his way through his bucket list and while he's in China he meets Abel.Abel is like a breath of fresh air....he's pushy but so endearing.Landon is happy in his own company,he's resigned to the fact he can't let anyone get close to him.But Abel has other ideas....

After their initial encounter they bump into each other again and no matter how hard he tries Landon can't seem to deter Abel. One of the things on his bucket list is have sex with a stranger so Landon thinks why not?.

It was only supposed to be a one night stand...

Landon and Abel are two of the most engaging characters I've read about and together they are perfect.
I had a lump in my throat more than once reading this.
I felt,
Every emotion,
Every struggle,
Every happy moment,
Every sad moment,

The message is a strong one and it's so beautifully written.
