If you have visited the Residency in Lucknow, or planning on a visit, this is a must read and will be an invaluable guide in walking in the footsteps of the Garrison of 1857. I have travelled here 3 time from New Zealand and wish I had this with me. Eva knows her stuff and has created a step by step guide to the ruins at The Residency, which is expansive. Easily spend a day here filming and the old buildings are just as they were in late 1857, with beautiful gardens. Must be about 30 acres plus and you can walk happily through the rooms and buildings as they were so long ago and too the grave yard where nearly 2,000 were hastily buried, even the remains of St Mary's is there. So much to see and this little book will make it all come alive for the historian and the curious alike. Well done and 5 stars Eva.

Eva has written an incredibly well researched book on the Residency in Lucknow, where I have visited 3 times on 3 seperate journeys from New Zealand. An invaluable work, most concise and for the travelling tourist or Indian Mutiny historian.
