Colour: Phthalo Blue Red Shade Verified Purchase
A lovely basic for every pallet. It substitutes for French Ultramarine, with smoothness and brilliant transparency. Only use FUM if you really need its smoky granulation. Otherwise it is phathol blue from Daniel Smith every time.

Colour: Lapis Lazuli Genuine
Beautiful granulation but grey, dullish colour (as this seems contain lots of ash, unlike the more expensive lapis which is purer and bluer). Daniel Smith's smalt is a much more expressive shade.

This has become my absolute favourite paint. It granulates beautifully and mixes with other colours. Wonderful fore mountains and rocks and also cloudy skies and swirling mists.
