After following the Fall Away books and devouring each one , I couldn't wait to read about Quinn (Jason and Kat's daughter).
When I started the book and realized that it's devoted to delving in the past - basically Kat's and Jason's story - I looked forward to learning about their beginnings and how it would affect Quinn's life or her obvious love for Lucas . Unfortunately , majority of the book is focused on that and to only get glimpses of the actual story . While I don't mind a bit of blast from the past , or if it's the main characters , it's important that know how they came to be where they are in the present . It's altogether different when a whole book is devoted on your parents relationship !
I felt cheated . You can tell the author is setting up the foundation for Quinn and Lucas's relationship as well as the obvious love triangle amongst Dylan, Kade and Hunter .
But if I have paid for a book , I don't want to get a background encompassing the whole book !

Pen does it again. This book was everything you have been wanting and then some. If you loved the fall away series this is a beautifully written novella, which is a transition for another series. Seeing how our favourite teens are getting on with their own teenagers is brilliant. Written from Quinns pov but not her story. Full of hints that will drive you mad with wonder, needing answers and making you fall in love with the new generation. As always Pen leaves you wanting more.

Love, love, loved this book so much. It was so great getting an insight into Jase and Kat's story as well as seeing the rest of the gang. I can't wait to read Quinn's story. A definite recommendation to everyone

I've been reading Penelope's book since Bully. For me nothing can beat the story of Jared and Tate. But this one, brought us to a new level. She put all the stories past, present and future all together. And it was amazing! I love how she pulls you into the past and then suddenly you'll find yourself in the present again without getting bored. Everything is is so exciting. I'm so looking forward to what will happen next. I have no clue what will happen about Q and L but I'm sure it'll be super good. But I can tell that Dylan's story is going to be painful and heartbreaking 😪

The book wasn't what I expected by the blurb, less about her story and more the family history. Although it doesn't match it's description it is a well written story that kept my attention all the way through. I would recommend if you are looking for a messy love story and want to catch up on the other characters from the series.

I feel this book was just grasping onto an already told series, there wasn't much of a story that we hadn't already heard from reading the previous books. It almost feels as though your reading but not getting anywhere new, frustrating to say the least.

I get that this a a novella and in some ways a transition book to bring us up to date and to lead to the other stories in this series (hopefully).

Love PD's writing as usual.

Only complaint was far too short and price was higher than expected.
