This is a quick read, but gives you the key points to formulate a plan for financial security. I would have been unhappy paying £6.99 for it, but reading through Prime or Unlimited is recommended. All of the information in the book is freely available on the web, including on the author's own website. What this book does is gather it into one simple read, providing a useful introduction for those to whom the concept of FIRE is new.

I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in the subject of financial independence. It covers a good variety of ideas in a concise fashion which you may want to focus on in more detail at a later date. I liked that it isn't purely focused on investing - it covers key ideas towards changing your personal attitude towards saving and spending and ultimately how these things maximise investing.

Having regularly read the author's blog ([...]), I'm grateful for his effort he has put in to sharing his self taught knowledge!

Informative, clear, hard truths. Most personal finance books make you feel like you've failed before you start if you didn't seriously start saving for your retirement from the age of 20. However, this book is real world stuff. Most of us can't or don't get around to this until much later. All the great learnings from the blog posts come together to teach you how to become FI.

WOW! I've read many books on Prosperity Consciousness that only give you the mindset behind building financial wealth. But this book gives you something that others don't. - The tools and techniques on how to save, where to invest and how to retire in less than 10 years. It's full of powerful money saving and investment strategies and real life examples on how to get to financial freedom. No exaggerations, no fluff, no BS, this book is a must read! I can't recommend it highly enough.

It's always inspiring to hear how someone made it - and in this case, the author very much comes across as an ordinary Joe who didn't win the lottery, or come up with a fantastic new business idea or make their money from telling others how to get rich.

Instead he simply worked his butt off as an employee (while demanding regular pay rises in return for high performance), increased the amount he was saving, reduced his personal costs and learned how to invest while relentlessly tracking progress to stay motivated.

Even as a bit of frugalista myself, I found a couple of tips I hadn't seen before - and the section on investing makes it seem far easier and more straightforward than I previously appreciated.

Lastly, beyond a short introduction, the book lacks the fluff and hyperbole typically found in similar books.

As someone who enjoys looking for alternative paths through life, away from the mainstream ideas that involve pledging your future time and efforts to pay off interest to a bank for things you don't need, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

The list of funds which act as proxies to the typical investment classes (which a financial advisor would charge immense ongoing fees to allocate your money to, and possibly manage sub-optimally) are honestly worth much more than the price alone. It'll save me a lot of time researching similar.

One important point; you could easily tailor the ideas in the book to 'pace' your path differently. The author clearly worked very hard indeed to achieve their goals in a very short time....I'm stretching mine out a bit more, preferring to balance life in the here and now too but the core principles would be the same and either way leads to building a resilience that allows any of lifes challenges to be dealt with. It's an inspiring read.
