He writes a no nonsense account of how he achieved financial independence, and does not flower it with unnecessary jargon.
I liked the book because it is easy to follow step by step, which for me is the best way to grasp a subject.
The author makes it clear early on that this is no quick fix.
I will be recommending to my son and daughter. We all have well paid jobs at present and are currently looking at stocks, shares and property in the hope of becoming financially independent over a period of time.
This book gave me plenty to think about and resources to investigate my plan for financial independence. I read the book in an afternoon and it opened my eyes.
Instead he simply worked his butt off as an employee (while demanding regular pay rises in return for high performance), increased the amount he was saving, reduced his personal costs and learned how to invest while relentlessly tracking progress to stay motivated.
Even as a bit of frugalista myself, I found a couple of tips I hadn't seen before - and the section on investing makes it seem far easier and more straightforward than I previously appreciated.
Lastly, beyond a short introduction, the book lacks the fluff and hyperbole typically found in similar books.
Having regularly read the author's blog ([...]), I'm grateful for his effort he has put in to sharing his self taught knowledge!

Excellent, well written and nice quality paperback, well worth the money.
Giving it to my teenage son for Christmas, hope to set him up for life, with good financial habits.
Informative, clear, hard truths. Most personal finance books make you feel like you've failed before you start if you didn't seriously start saving for your retirement from the... Read morePublished 7 months ago by Miss L D H Thompson
I've read the authors blogs for a couple of years - this book is great because it takes many of the posts from the blog, and presents them in a quick, concise read. Read morePublished 7 months ago by DCB
