About the Author

Family, friends, food, a glass of bubbly and, of course, a good book make me smile. I love writing emotional stories about love, loss, betrayal, and family that explore how complex and yet beautiful love can be. I also like to write romantic comedy, letting the characters have a bit of fun too! I believe in following your dreams, which led me here to Harper Impulse and a publishing deal after many years of writing. Stunning Northumberland is my home – sandy beaches, castles and gorgeous countryside that have inspired my writing.

Having read all of Caroline's books to date I have been eagerly awaiting My Summer of Magic Moments. This one stands out with its wonderful setting in Northumberland, much of it taking place on Bamburgh Beach. The story follows Claire, post breast cancer and recently split from her husband, trying to get her life back on track. She is a plucky, determined young woman and from very early on I was rooting for her to find happiness. Ed, the love interest, is an interesting and mysterious character. I love the way the author drip feeds his back story. It certainly had me keep picking up the book to find out more about his history.

The cancer aspect of the story has obviously been well-researched and I am sure it will touch a cord with many readers. The descriptions of the beach and the ever-changing weather really draw you to this wonderful part of the country and reflect the tumult of Claire's emotions.

All in all, a beautifully written story that has all the ingredients for a compelling read. Go buy it and enjoy! Congratulations, Caroline, on such an up-lifting story with a beautiful romance woven through it.

After a major health scare, Claire takes time out to take stock, before starting a new life.
Her secret hideaway is interrupted by a brooding, Scotsman who clearly wasn't expecting company.
But sometimes a magic moment happens when you're least expecting.
