Product description
Depeche Mode's Video Singles Collection is the definitive 3DVD library anthology containing more than four hours of the post-punk pioneers' groundbreaking music videos (and two-plus hours of audio commentary). The 3DVD set presents more than three decades worth of Depeche Mode's international hit singles as lensed for the group's mind-blowing progression of innovative and provocative music videos directed by a who's who of cinematic visionaries including Julien Temple, Anton Corbijn, D.A. Pennebaker, John Hillcoat and others.
Video Singles Collection is the first in a series of band-approved retrospective projects examining Depeche Mode's extraordinary career and effect on pop culture and marks the first time that DM's video singles--from 1981 to 2013--have been compiled together in a single anthology.
The set includes 55 newly restored versions of the essential video singles in the DM canon in addition to four rare alternate videos and new commentary on specific individual clips, recorded by members of Depeche Mode especially for this release.
This release is in NTSC format.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 November 2016I've been a fan of Depeche Mode for 10 years now, the only video collection I owned by them was the DVD that was included on the 2006 Best Of album (my first purchase and introduction to the band), there are plenty of videos missing from that so it's nice to have an expansive 3 disc set including all their videos remastered in 16:9.
Since this DVD was announced it instantly received a lot of negative reviews, with fans constantly posting on their Facebook page about not releasing this package on Blue Ray, but really, what difference would it make? Just watching those 80s videos suggest the quality isn't going to get much better than on this DVD due to the film used to record them. DVD is fine! Blu Ray players play DVDs so get over it and enjoy this for what it is, a comprehensive career spanning music video collection with excellent commentary from the band. I just wanted to watch one video with commentary but I ended up watching every commentary due to how interesting they are.
If you are a fan, I see no reason why you won't enjoy this, the band could have easily just put this out with just the videos and nothing else, it's a fantastic DVD, buy it, you won't regret it.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 May 2020I was always put off buying this DVD collection because of the reviews on here saying that this NTSC DVD would not play on a UK region 2 player. Well that is incorrect, this DVD played on my SONY region 2 player, my Xbox One S and even on my old Xbox 360. Not sure if the other reviewers have actually purchased the item or are assuming. It’s a region 0 DVD as are most music DVD’s. I buy a lot of CD re-issues of 80’s bands and many are now packaged with a DVD, they are almost always NTSC region 0 playable anywhere in the world. So do not miss out on this fantastic collection if you to have been put off by reviews over compatibility. I’m so glad I took a chance and bought it, it’s a brilliant 3 DVD collection in a smart card fold out packet with stunning glossy booklet. Good price at around £20. Totally recommend. My video shows the the Xbox one playing this DVD.The media could not be loaded.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 November 2016Ok firstly it's fantastic to have an extensive three DVD video singles collection with over 50 Videos video Finally in one place. Great to also see some videos that were omitted from earlier DM video compilations such As get the balance right, see you ETC. The commentary is a fantastic added bonus as this could of been a standard video only release.
The negative points are the environmentaly friendly cheapish cardboard housing for the discs which is becoming increasingly popular these days and the actual discs are really hard to tell which is disc 1,2 or 3 as the written word is poor on them.
This aside an essential DM fans purchase

So when I saw this one...bought it out of habit expecting little.
Well, I was wrong. There are some hilarious/profound/stimulating band commentaries over the videos...too much Fletch (the dimmest) I'm afraid...but the general input is something to be savoured.
Whoever the blokeish guy was interviewing the band members really clicked with them...could have gone on for hours...I wished.
But can I say one thing: having suffered for decades through the naff "But not tonight" (one of my all-time favourite DM tunes) video I thought I was condemned to eternity to suffer well that particularly cheesey video clip....but hark!!!...the video has been redone eliminating that Z movie garbage and replaced by more DM in their best sub-Kraftwerkian poses.
Strangelove...pre-Anton...loses much of its exotic power in colour...fascinating....
Combined with the Monument book this troll's Christmas came early...
If you are a DM groupie...this is a must purchase....enjoy the.....
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 December 2016As I said in the headline, 10/10 for the content & music. Finally having all of Depeche Mode's music videos together, updated, in one package, is brilliant... on paper at least!!!
For a start, nowhere in the booklet or packaging, is it marked where one dvd ends and the next begins. Discs 1 & 2 finish halfway through whichever album's music videos are playing.. ie Disc 1 ends on 'Behind The Wheel' (from 'Music For The Masses') and Disc 2 ends on 'I Feel Loved' (from 'Exciter'). But the worst is to come, while most of their earlier videos were recorded on the old 4:3 ratio picture, most of their modern videos from 'Exciter' onwards, were recorded in widescreen. So Discs 1 & 2 are authored in 4:3 Letterbox which is fine for their earlier videos but the last two on Disc 2 are from 'Exciter'. Disc 3 has been authored using 4:3 Letterbox and 16:9 Widescreen, meaning some of their modern widescreen videos appear non-anamorphic widescreen (4:3 Letterbox) and others in their correct anamorphic fullscreen glory (16:9 Widescreen). Very distracting when trying to watch the clips together.
The packaging also leaves a lot to be desired, all three discs are housed in flimsy cardboard pockets where it's very difficult not to scratch them when taking them out.
I hate to complain about stuff like this, all in all it's a decent enough package, but a little more time and thought could've made this so much better.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 July 2017A really great if not quite fully comprehensive video collection (it does indeed have all the singles but DM have a few videos for non-single releases too). I really enjoy the commentaries - I just wish there were more but that's me being greedy
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 February 201755 classics from the best band in the world.
But my booklet has a page with no text and this misses the context of the tracks.
I know them all anyway but it's bloody sloppy.

GnesiosReviewed in the United States on 5 December 20165.0 out of 5 stars Finally
I have been a fan of Depeche Mode since I first heard Everything Counts when I was 13, in 1983.
I have been so pleased to see that a band I grew up with that helped shape me in so many ways, has continued to put out good work , sometimes great still, after all these years. I've seen them live a dozen times over the years from Santa Barbara to San Diego , over and over.
They have put out some great live performance home viewing products. But For such a loved band, with decades long worshiping fans, I never understood why they didn't put any collections together to maybe coincide with thier many singles collections.
Soooo.... To now have this 4 plus hour beauty, with videos I've never seen like the one for Leave in Silence, is more than a joy, it is finally being fulfilled by this fantastic , Infuencial and still important band.
So to say this is worth buying, is Obvious, but that this is actually such a large collection, makes it a steal and a must for even the most casual fan.

Joe RobertsReviewed in France on 4 December 20175.0 out of 5 stars A déguster!
