Another great product by Anker!
I've only had it for 1 day so far but I'm in love with it already!It came in a Simple, Clean box (However the White Carded Label I had to cut off due to being a really tight fit).The Device itself is a nice smooth plastic device which I personally love and I have one of their Mini Bluetooth speakers with the same type of plastic.There is nothing to this, Plug it in and then plug your usb cable into the device which allows you to charge 5 devices at a time.It really makes charging multiple devices easily and Makes your desk look clean as You can remove the cables after you've finished charging and put those away until they are needed again; This leaves the box on the table, Nice and clean.

Absolutely look no further! This is the perfect USB multi port charger. There are so many alternatives all of which are compromised in one way or another - The Anker though has it all.

1. Five ports! Other similar devices may be slightly cheaper but usually have four ports - Anker wins on price per port!
2. A fantastic 8A current rating so that it can simultaneously charge whatever you want - 3 iPads and 2 iPhones without complaint!!
3. Each of the ports are created equal. ie. most other devices have some high output ports for iPads/tablets and other low output ports that won't charge high current devices and can only be used for phones etc. With the Anker you can plug whatever device into whatever port happens to be free. - The 8A is seamlessly shared amongst all ports delivering whatever is needed to whatever port. - It just always works!
4. Despite having a massive 8A current rating (which is invaluable) the power supply is contained within the unit so it works with any C7 (figure 8 power cable). which means no extra clutter or large transformer/power supply between the power socket and the charger. ( I bought a separate 50cm power cable to be neater on our kitchen worktop)
5. This is a fast charger. ie. non of the USB data lines are wired through so your gadgets won't ever think they are plugged into a data device e.g. a computer which would have resulted in the USB device only drawing the minimum USB power as defined in the official USB specification. The Anker avoids this and charges at full power on every port to every device.
6. This thing is tiny. I was expecting small but not this small.
7. Fantastic construction. The build quality and feel is absolutely A1+
8. Nice retail packaging - makes for a present that would be hugely appreciated for years to come.

Anker clearly started with the brief of what would it take to be the perfect no compromise USB charging device and then they designed it up from there. I really can't think of anything more that could have been done!

The Anker charger arrived in a neat, compact cardboard box. Well packaged, informative labelling on the outside, good green credentials. So off to a good start since I didn't have to reach for a pair of scissors and risk slicing my fingers on the awful plastic stuff designed to withstand nuclear attack most items tend to come in. There was even a nice message saying thank you for choosing Anker printed on the inside of the box, call me sentimental but I like nice touches like that, it's almost as if the company actually cares.

As to the product itself it feels sturdy, especially given it's small size. None of the plastic feels too plasticy. The ports are not marked in any way so it seems you can use any of them to charge any device.

I have an old Archos tablet that I have not been able to charge, even with it's own charger as the port is lose. I've never been able to get it to charge with any other charger. This little beauty managed to get it charged and even though it said USB charging which usually means not charging the tablet actually fully charged in about 4 hours!

I've not timed anything but it seems to charge most of the household phones quite rapidly. There is no buzzing or humming that other chargers seem to produce (according to reviews I've read) and it doesn't get hot.

All in all a great little product the whole experience (for what it's worth) of buying and owning an Anker product is positive, so worth a rare 5 stars from me (although I'll caveat that by saying I've only been using it in anger for a week).

The charger has seen heavy use over the last 18months+ and performed consistently well, but I've recently noticed that a couple of ports have stopped working. I've tried unplugging it, leaving it for half an hour or so and that did help recover one port, but I've still got 2 not working. Debating now if I should try another make to find something more reliable or try the newer version of this one.

I was contacted directly by Anker after posting my initial review and the contacted me and offered a replacement as a goodwill gesture. They handled the matter well and quickly despatched the item. I have since update this review and score to reflect the good customer service.

I bought this item on 6 April of 2014, it worked perfectly for 17 months then the 2nd port down on the device died on 2nd October 2015 and would not provide power to any device with any cable.

I contacted Anker as soon as I was able to as I was away at the time of the failure and during my trip I passed the 18 month period.

Anker were very firm on not accepting a return as the claim was after the warranty period even though the device failed within the warranty period. They would not consider any return at all.

Since then the top port has died as well (march 2016) and now this 5 port charger is not a 3 port charger.

Not impressed with the device quality if it is designed to fail this way after 2 years.
