Great upgrade for Yoga 2 Pro

As much as I love my Yoga 2 Pro, its wi-fi is clearly a weak point (was one of the major 'cons' when buying it, but 'pros' were stronger). So this little thing comes as a welcome upgrade - not only the speed is much higher with an AC router, but there are no more sudden drop outs that I used to have with default card.

Easy to install, just do a quick search on Youtube, and even no need to install new drivers.

Highly recommended.

Bought to replace the standard N card that came in the Yoga 2 Pro - works perfectly - took around 5 minutes to install - can now see the 5Ghz band on my 802.11ac router ( Netgear R7000 ) and the Virgin Broadband 152Mbps speedtests at 160Mbps using this card. Couldn't be happier :)

Fixed wi-fi issue with my Yoga 2 Pro

I have a Yoga 2 Pro, and was having problems when streaming video to my laptop when in London.

Reading up on the problem, this appeared to be an issue with the Intel driver for the 7260 network card when in a congested network area. (i.e. when there were lots of other wireless networks visible). The default card in the Lenovo is a single-band 802.11n version, so replacing with a dual-band 802.11ac gives the driver the opportunity (with a dual-band router obviously), of moving to the less congested 5GHz band.

This card did not work in my Yoga Pro2

The card supplied from Amazon was different from the one illustrated and did not work in my YogaPro2. The Yoga immediately detected it as an "Illegal card" and refused to boot up. Returned it to China for a refund. I notice that Amazon is no longer selling this card from this supplier.

I've since ordered another 7260AC card from a reputable UK supplier called "Flexx Ram" which arrived the next day (not like two weeks from the Chinese outfit). I installed it in my YogaPro2 (as per the YouTube video) and it worked straight away, finding my 5GHz network immediately.

My YogaPro2 is now dual-band everything I want it to be!

Moral is: by from a trusted UK supplier whenever you can!
